Simple dev question: clarify future paid content

I'm pretty sure it's even engraved on one of the stones outside the front door of their new office.

Selling traditional type expansion DLC in the store might well be a good idea. This circumvents having to sell extra DLC on Steam or the like, though I suppose that might still be an option too.

Interesting idea that I hadn't given much thought to before.

Simple answer:
Paid content is when you have to actually hand over money to get said paid content.
Is there anything else that you need help with? I'll be here all week.

No one knows. You see, we'll know when they announce and they'll announce when ready. Obviously, they are not ready.

Frontier has never charged for game content save paint jobs, bobbleheads and flight suits which do NOT affect game play. Expect more of the same, unless you are told differently.

Or alternatively, you can go off on a flat earth, fake moon landing style tangent and lose a lot of credibility.

nothing what they said on FX17 makes it impossible to continue the season model. this was all just wild speculation.

it is easing for the mind to assume, that the next season will start in 2018 and some of that content will be availiable for horizon and base game players as well.
these base game improvements are called "beyond"

You seem eager to dismiss any concerns that Frontier might break pattern and start charging for what you call "game content". Is this because you agree that it would be a bad thing? If it happens, will you speak against it at that time? Or will you call people whiners and insinuate that they are dumb rubes for ever having expected anything different?

The talk about the 'season pass' model probably being dropped for future expansions had nothing to do with anything that was or wasn't said at the Expo, it was from comments on here by FDev from months ago in which they said they were dropping it. You can certainly say that it was never definitively explained further than that but calling it 'wild speculation' is something of a stretch.

I think every time someone asks a dumb question like this Frontier should delay any update by a week.

That way it'll take almost as long as season 2 :D

No, he is not opposed to paying for content and it wont be a bad idea. Everyone and their dog knows fd is working on stuff which will be paid for, they always said so and just confirmed it again.

Weird post man.

I own a Liftime Expansion Pass and all i have to say is: enjoy your free season. I am looking forward to do the same.

In addition to all the content talked about at Frontier Expo, we also have some pretty cool things in the works which will be available to purchase. We're not ready to talk about them just yet so we can't give you any details but rest assured that the lifetime expansion pass owners will be looked after and will be getting their hands on premium content as part of their lifetime expansion pass before the end of 2018 and the Beyond series of updates.

I refuse to get drawn into any controversy, I'm just genuinely interested in what they have cooking. TBH, if Fdev is working on a substantial paid for "expansion" that lifers get for free and all others (myself for sure) need to pay extra for I'm absolutely cool with that. I've never had any issues with what this game costs to produce, or to play.
