Rough ETA on Engineer Changes?

Any rough guess on when these changes will happen? 3 months? 6 months? A year?

I have a bunch of ships I'd like to engineer but would rather not re-engineer them again, and the exploration itch has returned which might be a good thing to do while the engineer changes are going to happen - it might be time for a sightseeing trip to see things I haven't yet (megaships, planetary agriculture structures, mineral geysers etc) followed by a 1-2 month expedition into the deep black...I already have a fairly sizeable fleet that I will probably end up re-engineering after the changes (more OCD than actual requirement haha)...if the changes are like 9 months away I might just go ahead and do my engineering anyway, but if they are only 2-4 months away that would probably be worth waiting for. 6 months is a grey zone that I would probably wait for, although it's a tough decision - I would really like to engineer a couple corvettes, some FDLs etc.

Thanks. So before April of 2018, less than 6 months away.

Looks like I'll be taking a prolonged break from engineering! Time to finish off that fed admiral rank, triple elite, maybe fight some thargoids....then into the deep black I go.....

Q1 is all we know. Yes, we all know which months those are and we can all guess based on nothing.

Q1.

Bad day sleutebos?

That is why I said "probably" instead of "it certainly will be". So yes, it's a speculation, that happens to be right in the middle of Q1, with 4-5 months of distance from the 2.4 patch, the time we have to often wait for new patches.

Take a chill pill and put me on the ignore list if you find me so annoying, I won't mind.

Why? you can engineer now then get them better when the upgrade drops?

I already have around 20 G5 engineered ships. Time investment and all that!

Yes me too, probably more than 20, however i won't stop using engineers just because an update is coming out in 6 months!!, if it was 6 days away i may stop. However, the upgrade should mean i will get even better results than i have now.

Just my take on it.

Nah, I am having a pre-emptive bad day. :p Just making sure people lurking/reading here don't get confused. There really is nothing to say but 'all we know is q1'. Things tend to get re-hashed a lot until you find out that your speculation becomes a 'I heared that some dev mentioned on the forums it might be beta in february' which then becomes 'FD promised us it would start in february and they lied again!'. My tone was a bit crude, apologies.

So February then...Really looking forward to that release. ;)
