Fuel: How do we go further

Are you talking about "systems that cannot be reached in just one jump" ?

Follow up to that is: don't most systems have at-least one space station where you can stop-in and buy fuel?
Just takes multiple fuel stops, then, to get farther?

You're correct. Most multi-jumps don't even seem to require refuelling - you can jump at least three times on a tank of fuel in a Sidewinder. Max range is determined by your hyperdrive and the ship mass.

i have the problem im out of fuel and no station is nearby so what next ?

Until they introduce distress calls, there is the self-destruct option! :(

Edit: Actually, from reading other threads it seems the emergency beacon thing does work - I was sure I read yesterday that it was a placeholder... anyway, try it! :)

Yep, this game is turned from a space game to a fuel calculator simulator game.
Gone are the dreams of the explorer who boldly go....

Explorers typically face challenges. Also, weight and jumpdrive size combined with fuel storage availability - it's really not that hard. I don't know what max distances will become though.

But... Fuel scooping? When we can't get close to anything?

Right now, only 55 systems are accessible at all. All can be reached, somehow. Not all ships can necessarily reach all of the 55 systems though.

Later, once more stuff is implemented, all ships will have more flexibility and be able to increase their max jump range, but take a good look at the galaxy map. In some areas, stars have lower mean density than others, so some ships may always have trouble getting around in the wispy bits of the galactic edge, whilst towards the core, even Sidewinders and Eagles should have little trouble getting anywhere they like, although it may take more than one jump

The explorers package on KS is a "long range" cobra 3, which I assume will come with bigger tanks as well with a whole host of other things.

Also David has said he wants to see "fuel quality" as well if you scoop so a white dwarf may be a different fuel type to a yellow star.

exploring will not be just a point a click exercise but will need a lot of planning and thought.

Assuming there is a point in going towards the core to enjoy all that movement freedom. It's all uninhabited space.

At the moment, perhaps (we don't know where the Thargoids are). But that's the point of exploring, where we go, others will follow, and new systems will arise

I extended my range with a hauler by getting rid of the pulse laser.

I am unarmed, but can jump 7ly with some cargo and it opens nice shortcuts when empty.

It works, I had to use it yesterday, it cost ~1,100 to refuel a Hauler this way.

One forum member mentioned they used supercruise to get within 6 Ly of a target, then hyperspace worked. He/she was at 1300c and was super cruising from between 1 and 2 hours.
