I would pay for content

Well, I want a 'Vette and I'm sure as heck not getting any more Fed Rank.

(Well, maybe one more rank - there's this permit locked system called Exebia or something that's full of Australiana like platypuses and kangaroos and I think that would make a nice trophy to put straight in the pool room if you catch my drift)

A 'Vette for $50Au if I don't have to grind rank.

Thanks that'd be great.

Or implement David Braben's dream of being able to steal each other's ships.
I know a bloke with a 'Vette that I wouldn't mind pinching.

If this were a solo only game and you wanted to buy your way to the top, so be it.

What would your game experience be in such a game? You get to kill everything, get the most money for whatever you are doing, an ultimate return for whatever you do, for little or no effort?

I doubt that such a game would be successful.

If buying your way up in an open game were possible, it would certainly create a class structure even more unbalanced than what we have in ED.

We have a class difference in ED, but players have to put forth an effort to gain that upward mobility. You want that top ship or elite label, work for it.

FD is in a bit of a bind, in order to maintain player interest, the ability to acquire top tier rewards can't be too hard or too easy. Recent game history (personal opinion follows) has shown to me that it is becoming easier to acquire some of the top rewards.

In reading the forums, I hear more mentions of players achieving the rank to buy Cutters and Corvettes, much more that a year or more before.

This a strictly subjective observation and if the stats were available, it could easily be answered.

I would pay for expansion packs that are available to everyone. As much as I would love for my Corvette to be have a 25 LY jump range fully loaded and a 425 thust speed, I wouldn't want that to be available simply by paying FD. However, if an in-game addition that could be earned would provide that, I would be on that particular one in a milli-second.

NO buying ships w/ real money.

Pay2win is always a good way to seperate the lowlifes from successful players.
At the same time it generates more money for frontier so they can hire better and more skilled developers.....which in return gives us a better game....better experience more fun.
Overall i would pay for content....maybe a really unique ship for, lets say 100$.

This is what is wrong with mmos today

You know nothing about business. GTA was recently a dead game, until Rockstar made everything available to buy without wasting time to unlock stuff.
All lobbies are populated with players, pay2win works pretty good.

Coz you one of the not so wealthy people on earth? :D
do i really care what you think my finances are. dont assume, nothing. i can afford all i just dont think its right.
i pay for my internet, i payed for the game, i play the game :) i buy paint jobs etc.
affordability dosn't come into it.
i wont buy a ps4,xbone because they are also pay to play.

And added to ignore list. Now you're just downright attacking people.

We already have content we can buy. Paint jobs and other cosmetics. They look nice, and have zero effect on game play. As it should be. Nothing to see here.
