Finally, something everyone can agree on!
I´m a fanboi to. Check out this hymn to Elite Dangerous. I´ve not played the game much lately, and I don´t play many games in these times. Because of my spiritual awakening. I write poems, draw and channel positive messages. But i´m still a big fan of Elite Dangerous and buy stuff on the shop. They still listen to all of us and take care of their fans. Im proud to be a part of this endevour in these times and I hope you are to.
Here is the hymn and my view on what will make E.D truly stand out
This game has the potential to become the first full fledged Sci Fi simulation of the modern time. Along with SC. Its already the best Sci Fi space simulation around by far. With all the new stuff coming in 2018 and the speculations of space legs and atmospheric landings. Its exiting times for Elite Dangerous.
There are some stuff which will really make this game stand out.
1. Space legs and all which is possible with walking around.
2. More interactive NPCs, like NPC wingmen and the like.
3. Atmospheric landings.
4. Corpses in space, and the possibilities around this ability.
5. More environmental diversity and atmosphere. Like fog in asteroid fields which makes use of light sources more important.
All these will make Elite Dangerous a truly unique experience. With all these possibilities E.D can and will only become better and better with the years coming. If 1 feature can be implemented each season from lets say next year. 2018-2023. Its well inside their 10 year plan. Along with better graphics as the new Nvidia and Raedon series comes out and adding more content. Adding persistence to some NPC elements and more rewards through loot and leveling. This is becoming an epic sci fi experience. Thx. Much love to you.

I'd probably have much more upbeat view of the game and Frontier if..
They hadnt shafted me over my rather generous support for them during KS (ill feeling tends to occur when money is exchanged in good faith and commitments are not met or no attempt to make amends made).
and the forums werent designed as a one sided platform to demonize players who dare shoot at others. Really, at times its felt like that and would never be tolerated if daily posts were made about how Explorers or Traders or Private Groupers were ruining the game along with attempting to profile their psychology.
I'm not entirely sure if without these issues I would be less critical since there are so many frustrating aspects of the game but if they were resolved it would remove the large shadow thats been cast over my enthusiasm for ED.
That said I am pleased to see the proposed changes for Beyond, efforts to improve the core game are most welcome. I really couldn't careless that its not paid for but when it comes to the LEP the problem is the lack of clarity because rather than be illuminated on the future we are still no wiser to what sort of sales strategy the game will take. It being treated like a state secret. And whist I doubt Frontier would shaft folks with the LEP, its simply raised a doubt in peoples minds.
And as for that doubt, well they don't exactly have an unblemished record..

To be absolutely fair, the forums aren't designed that way - that's a function of the nature of the players who post on forums. The psychology of that is a result of the self-selecting nature of the population of almost any forum. It's a valid topic of conversation, and therefore it's allowed.
Besides which...there's an important point: the people who join in on those threads actually enjoy it.

I support Fdev in my own way, and think they've done a great job in a number of areas. Communication and staying on a timetable are not those areas. I'll continue supporting the dev's both financially and verbally, but reserve the right to criticize when I deem appropriate. I read Shadragon's OP as yet another attempt at stifling any and all criticism.

Well put and I wholly concur. This is the game I dreamt of as a child, I obsessed over the original to the n'th degree!
Wrong, I never said that. I encourage people to speak up if they have issues, but I want them to be at least partially based in reality. I'd give examples of outright lies on page 1 of the threads right now, but that would just divert this thread into another circular argument of 'he said, she said'.
