What else do you hope to see in E: D "Beyond".

Can you show me where they "admitted that this was just a small taste of what is to come"?

Can you show where they said the unmentioned stuff would only be minor things? 4 releases across 2018, two of them major, & you think they covered all the big stuff in under half an hour?

  • add gameplay around the CQC assets (space installations) and megaships
  • add gameplay around asteroid bases (i.e. pirate bases, smugglers bases)
  • systems states to be much more noticeable (when entering system/starport)
  • what happened to the 'large cities' that were supposed to be coming with Horizons?
  • a larger SRV
  • would like to see FD make an effort to reduce (or better disguise) the loading screens/transitions
  • chained missions with a more detailed, coherent narrative linking them together
  • improvements to the silly “chase the search zone” mechanic
  • make naval ranks mean something beyond ship unlocking
  • orrery

I want (at least NPCs) to leave escape pods when they die to be scooped and rescued or sold. One for most ships, many for cruise ships. Total space pirate comic trope we're missing out on here.

I guess they hit that cutting room floor along with the volcanic worlds we were going to be able to land on in a later hoirzons patch, as well as (iirc) options for different SRVs and using an SRV in multicrew - a feature which even made the official trailer

Given the subsequent information about re-working shaders etc., I guess they delayed them instead of perhaps doing some stuff twice? Although that said if there's any paid DLC I'd not be surprised to see them appear in that category.

I'm not certain that the unmentioned features will be minor, and I didn't present that claim as fact. It just stands to reason that they would at least mention all of the major features of 2018 at FEXPO. I'm pretty confident that I could talk about all of the major changes that came with Horizons in half an hour.

I think that they may wait for the next expo to show the new premium content update (possibly coming Q4 of next year).

As you have written, they have said what they showed was a small amount of what is to come. Not what is to come is small.

I think you are getting your wording mixed up. Not too sure why it stands to reason to be honest. Premium content does not sound minor.

Again, no, what Ed actually said was "that is a lot of stuff, as well, and we've not even covered everything that is going to be in the Beyond series of updates". At no point did they say that they only showed a small portion of what's to come in Beyond.

"Premium content" could be as simple as a special set of ship skins, but we'll just have to wait and see.

I don't believe so, because the premium content was "revealed" in the LEP thread, and the strong implication was that LEP owners would get that premium content as part of it.

LEPs don't cover cosmetics.

big ships flying around, docking unloading
shuttles doing stuff and ferrying to and fro planets
a living universe
a working economy
stuff happening outside of uss, cz's etc.

mining lazer and other geometry abborations fixed
no more rotating sunflares
working economy

vulture shipkit no longer clipping through the hangar ceiling

srv useable in multi crew
stuff to do in multi crew
multi crew missions
more missions

meteorites...space stuff....comets, accretion discs and deadly black holes (not like in Calcutta)

you know.....stuff

More stuff to do on planet surfaces, to give them a bit more reason to spend time down there. I've been over it a few times on the suggestions board, but the short version is even if they just had Conflict Zones also spawn around the surface, in canyons and craters and near starbases, that would be a massive, simple step in the right direction.

I doubt that the "premium content" Frontier alluded to for Beyond is anything cosmetic, that content would be sold in the store like normal. No, the stuff in Beyond that LEP owners will get for free and the rest of us will have to pay for will probably be something much more substantial, like actual new features for the game. Things like a "Gas Giant Permit" allowing you to fly into gas giants, or even a "Salvage Permit" allowing you to use mining lasers on shipwrecks to mine them for materials, or maybe a "Surface Builidng Permit" allowing you to set up and run a small player owned surface installation on planets. Headline features that would normally be part of a season update, that's the kind of thing I believe Frontier is hinting at which the LEP owners will get for free.

Just my hunch though, Frontier could have other things in mind.
