...I like earning money.

The big issue with high credit paying runs is there should be a heightened danger to the mission. The problem is people were stacking multiple high payment missions and when they were scanned and lost tons of money they freaked out and went off on the devs.

People say they want realistic danger, as long as it doesn't affect them.

There is always going to be the shrill whine of the lame jerks who can't keep up with the big kids...

You just need to find what I found - a nice, risky but rewarding smuggling run.
I nearly lose a ship every single time I go, but I also make an easy 15-18 million per trip, with each trip taking right around 15 minutes. I can push this up to around 24m per trip with a bit of effort.

When I need to make a big chuck of credits in a not-as-short span of time, it's Ram Tah and the Guardian Ruins for me. It's a bit of work, but I've got this down to a science now, and can finish a run in around 5 hours now, and 111 million credits is still 111 million credits.

I know some of us, myself included, would like better smuggling mechanics.

The whole heat signature thing to avoid scans just doesn't make sense when the damned station knows you're incoming anyway because they just gave you permission to dock.

Working as intended, station is a long distance anyway just found a new route paying way more with a station 1.8m ls from the star (that's a near 40 minute journey with interdictions). Payments entirely appropriate for the time investment.

40 min journey sounds brutal.

Perhaps something to do while watching TV in order to top up the coffers.

Sure it makes sense.
You can't scan what you can't target. Heat signature = a target.

They know you're there, but they can't see you on scanners, which is why they say "you dropped off the radar commander, acknowledge". Makes perfect sense.

I started after Robigo so I can't comment on that. But if I'm understanding right, it was long range smuggling from a medium pad outpost back to the bubble. Sounds acceptable.

I did Sothis/Ceos long distance hauling in an Asp-X and later in an Anaconda. I have no issues with the amount of cash I was making, I do think it should have taken me a little longer to make Trade Elite. Using those missions it took me about 5-6 weeks.

I love conflict zone and massacre missions. No reputation problems. Lots of money. I did not mind the 3 mission nerf in 2.3 however, the newest 1 ship for 1 mission really kills it. 22Mcr mission takes me an hour or two, and it requires a really well built ship and a certain skillset. I haven't done much CZing since 2.4, which makes me sad.

I did Quince and before that Fehu scan missions. Mostly for naval rank and micro materials, but the cash is nice. It is boring though, no doubt about that.

I did a bunch of sightseeing missions which paid really well and took me to some scenic places. I've also stacked bulk passenger missions in places like Rhea. For some reason I really dislike passengers though. My ship, get off.

I want to make 50Mcr per hour for a few hours a week. Then I want to spend the rest of my week visiting different POIs, doing the CG, supporting minor factions that I like, doing engineering, building new ships, etc. Hopefully FD can figure something out.

EDIT: I forgot the POINT... The point was, I did these things, I made a lot of money, and I'm well over 2000hrs and totally enjoy the game. Making money didn't hurt me, nor did it hurt anyone else. These nerfs shouldn't be so high on the "fix" list. Blatant exploits, like shooting skimmers with a dumbfire to complete ship massacre missions, sure. But the things above that I participated in, they could be improved/fixed up, but it's not a critical thing.

IMO the Quince/Rhea exploit going away was a great thing. Money should not be so easy to make.
Robigo, however, should be revived. It absolutely was not an exploit as there were very real risks-- one scan = lose everything plus get hostile rep.
Even Sothis wasn't bad because it took a very long time to complete all the missions.
Since you have a Cutter, have you considered PvE piracy? You can make 20-30+ mil an hour quite easily and it's actually fun. See my video for a quick tutorial https://youtu.be/djlEY6WBz1Y

Exactly - Robigo, with the proper rank requirements, and the scan=fail was about the best balance in terms of risk vs reward I have seen in the game.

These sorts of missions, along with rank requirements, should be brought back in.

Z...

Hmm... so, what would you do in game OP if for example FD gave you 100000000000000 credits?

Feel free to correct me if it's just my reading comprehension failing me, but they said they "like earning money." Not "I like being given money, negating the need to play the game". I know the latter's a popular thought-terminating cliché around here. "You just want a win button." Discussion ended, white knighting poster's world view preserved, constructive discussion of both actual and alleged issues with the game avoided. Carry on commanders. o7 ...

I did actually read it as their entire motivation for playing was earning credits.

...I like earning money.

Just what the title says. It's how I have fun in Elite.

The underlined part seems like a pretty clear statement.

So how can you find where's good for passenger runs? EDDB will show tourism locations but not any idea of numbers or value of those trips which seems to vary massively for locations and destinations.
