Robigo is dead :(

They did stop the abandon/sell back. Black market sales don't effect your rep so much now. If you do it more than a few times you will end up with hostile rep = no missions/landing rights.

Cheers, didn't know they restricted cmdrs from landing. BTw, was fairly certain that cmdrs still sold mission cargo back to markets, how would that even work if they couldn't land? Just moving around to different stations?

Was so much fun. Unfortunately Cmdrs selling cargo back to the market caused the devs to shut the whole thing down, the fail on scan also needed a bit of work. A huge amount of potential for smuggling gameplay, just needed tweaking... It's a shame exploiters have to ruin things.

Yeah those missions where you had to carry cargo over hundreds of light years with a half dozen ships chasing you, then risky silent run docking, were probably the most fun I've had in game. High risk, high reward. Great evening's entertainment. Shame it's not in game anymore. Here's hoping we get something similar in future.

It depends on your reputation with the minor faction controlling the station. If you have hostile rep they won't allow you to land at the station, if you're already docked they won't give you more missions and once you leave you can't come back.

Every time you abandon a mission, your rep takes a hit. It used to be, when you sold back to the black market it would raise your rep a little more than what you lost from abandoning the mission. But now, selling to the black market does not raise your rep so if you abandon missions you will quickly find yourself with hostile rep. I guess you could call it a noob trap.

I think the same thing happened with the skimmer killing exploit, pretty soon the station became hostile to several commanders, and wouldn't allow them to land to turn in their missions.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
Long live the new Robigo! (You know there's gonna be a new meta.... lol)

I had no idea it was a thing? Stopped after the scan=failed missions were removed. We now have passenger missions for dangerous smuggling, and god knows what for the the gimme-more-fake-money-dont-take-my-fun-please-nerf-AI-and-remove-insurance-fetishists. :p

Is there an acronym for the term you just used?

Haha, that reminded me of this...

I thought Robigo died in 2.0 or something? Lol

To be honest, I haven't been back since.

I miss the old fashioned Robigo runs.
Cops on your tail, docking was perilous, bugs trolled you.
All or nothing gameplay. How it should be. :)

None of this "oh dear, you got scanned, don't worry, here, have a cookie" gameplay. Lol

Just wanted to chime in here to increase the pressure on FD ;-)

Robigo shadow deliveries were great. Han Solo gameplay at it's best. A real shame they overdid it an not only used the nerf hammer but a nerf nuke.

I hope we get Robigo back.

You cant take the missions anymore. Landing was no issue as you already were landed. :p

Smuggling is dead, full stop.

Yup.
When they removed fail-on-scan, they basically removed smuggling along with it.

Now it's just a cargo delivery.

Fail-on-scan was the best part of smuggling, and is what justified the rewards.
And the high risk, high reward, all or nothing gameplay is what made it so much fun.

Admittedly, Robigo was a bit too well paid, and had that silly selling cargo back to the station exploit.

But they already increased the cargo size for smuggling to reduce stacking, which was an indirect nerf to payouts. There was no need to remove the fail-on-scan system.

I hate to whine, but it seems FD are systematically removing the difficulty from the game for some reason.
Even surface scans, and salvage are milk runs now. Just follow the arrow. Land. Win. Lol

AH I enjoyed a good Robigo run. And run it was! Full pelt with swarms of Bounty Hunters and Police on your tail!

Nothing about it was easy. Re-logging TBH was a chore to fill a Python and then with your jump range severely curtailed lugging it back +/-300 ly to multiple destinations could take hours.

And all this could be lost but for a moments inattention or just simple bad luck!

Robigo smuggling was a skill.

Agree the Robigo runs were awesome, I even used to haul precious metals back there long before Horizon's. You could stack up loads of missions in an Asp or Python as they were only a few tonnes each and there was no limit to the amount you could stack other than space in your hold which is how it should be. The Interdictions were ridiculous but that was to be expected! Then came the smuggling and fail on scan missions, these were so much fun and in those days interdictions were so hard to evade there was a good chance of being scanned and losing it all!

I never actually got to try Robigo, bit before my time. I did find some places that gave you fail on scan smuggling missions to the bubble though, before 2.4. They were pretty rare even then, and you had to be friendly to get offered them. If I remember right they were about 1.5 mil a go on average.

I can't remember the system names off the top of my head but stations were: Lemmy's Rock (asteroid base), Pirate's Lament (asteroid base), and Stepping Stone Base (outpost, on the way to Robigo I think).

There's probably more, but since the patch I got offered no missions from those factions at all. Hard to say how much is due to the patch though as remote stations, especially asteroid bases, hardly ever seemed to spawn any mission type for me anyway, except for passenger ones. Anyone else been out to these places and got any missions since 2.4?

Anyone else keep checking this thread to see if Frontier have commented? This is the first time I have felt excited about anything since the launch.
