PvP This is why the incoming law enforcement buff and penalties can't come soon enough.

But this is a newcomer system for cryin out loud.

The newcomer system is next door actually.

Adle's Armada first form of gameplay is pvp. Sometimes they go find it, sometimes it comes find them. Nothing weird here.

And although I welcome harsher police response, it will never properly deter run'n'gun (or gun'n'run to be more accurate) newbie killing under the current game mechanics. Doesn't matter if you have 20 anacondas drop on you as soon as you interdict, most high end ships only need a couple seconds to destroy a low end ship. And they have the defences to survive those few seconds against almost everything.

I honestly can't remember where I started. It wasn't important information for me. All I remember is I didn't stick around. I was off running data missions and such pretty early on. I figured the starting systems is where all the competition was and I'd better get out of there if I wanted to really get anything done, so I picked a random direction and wound up in Lembava

Any newcomer can jump away like anyone else. There isn't any specific newcomer content there in any way. Yes, its lame, yes, appropriate C&P would be fun. But no, this dramaqueeny 'OMG Open is surely dying!!!!!!!' stuff is equally annoying.

You think it is so bad? Your sig tells me you've got an FDL. Use it.

While you are technically correct, new players are, by definition.......new! They're still learning the game and haven't learned what we have yet. Since the game released, how many new players have been ganked by 'pro' players while still in their starting system, even having barely left they're starting station/outpost, or even just in the adjacent systems, trying to get a start, and subsequently quit the game as a result, I wonder? In my books, even 1 is too many. But it's all good so long as groups like SDC can get their jollies, right?

Didn't mobius get ganked themselves at one point.

Real safe....not.

I have never, ever encountered hostile players in Mobius. Yes, it has happened on a handful of occasions. They passed very quickly. I didn't even notice (as I suspect the majority of members didn't).

Mind you, most of the people I meet in Open are ok too.

SDC are playing the game. Play them back at it. They aren't strong enough to keep control of the BGS if others want to oppose them.

If only all carebears logged into open. They would realise they outnumber both nomads and sdc by thousands. Then they would start to bounty hunt. Then we would have a nice multiplayer game. But i guess they want to play in pg and solo in order to play the game the way they want to do. I've said this in the reddit post too. All a PvPer wants is a fight. Give it to them. Stand up to your oppressors. Start bounty hunting players.

Are you new to the game? Because that's the only way anyone can believe that a player in PvE kit doing 'game world stuff' has a chance of beating a player in PvP kit. In reality Harry Potter wouldn't survive 30 seconds in a well rolled g5 PvE ship we might typically run with, against one of his friends.

Conversely a PvP kit is almost unplayable for PvE activities at least in the sense that CR/hr would be laughable. PvE and PvP builds are so incompatible they should be launched from separate menus. There is no way any sane player is going with reinforced/shielded over dirty drives or increased fsd range or stacking 5 HRP, 3 MRP and 2 SCBs instead of 400t of cargo.

All this fighting talk is just feeding new victims to the bored bullies. A lot of them will ragequit because they don't believe a game system could exist where they can be routinely pitted in encounters where they have exactly zero chance of survival.

As soon as I started playing this game I found out where Empire space was and I was gone. Never been back to the starter systems since.

Not sure but I think it was waiting for a docking slot that made me click on solo, not been back to open that often since then either :S

Im far from a carebear, but I have 0 interest in pvp. let alone playing the game you seem fit for me to play, you play it your way I'll play it mine, see we're both happy campers. Or not as you seem to want people to play the game in a way not many of us want to play it.

Why should i change my preferred way of playing to suit someone else ?????.

Mobius the only way to fly :)

Since my post got a lot of replies, lemme do a quick response to most of 'em.

"I'm the one who wants players who do not want to direct-PvP, to direct-PvP."

You guess they want to play the game the way they want to. I'd say that's a good guess :)

So why decide to play the way they don't want to, to 'stand up to' some player?

Edit: aka what Genar said.

Unfortunately, one has to PvP in order to stand up to the PvPers. There is no other way. If you don't want to stand up, just don't. But then, don't cry about PvPers on forums/reddit too. There is no point in just crying and doing nothing abou to solve the problem. There is no magical thing that will make PvP go away. It has to be a player initiative.

If you actually read the reddit thread, you'd see someone pointed they still use God rolled ships. Plus, they are co-coordinated, we are not. In all likelihood they'd either run or just kill us if we tried to stop them.

Unless, maybe, if your so confident, you could set up a group to fight the gankers....hmmmm.....

I am a member of Nomads, one of the blockader wings. If you actually read what I say, I am telling the opressed CMDR's to come together and fight together. There are ways to kill everything in this game. You just have to come up with the right plan and approach. I can go in detail if you want, but trust me, we can be defeated too.

Or just completely ignore them for the lulz :D

Well, creating topics like this on the game's forums is far from ignoring PvPers, i'ld say. So your comment is kinda pointless. Ignoring us will just make the "newb killing" problem worse.

What's in it for me?

Peace in the universe. If you don't want that I don't know if this thread is for you.

There is no way to get rid of PvPers, apart from doing PvP. If you have zero interest in PvP, you're kind of in a wrong thread. You shouldn't really speak your mind about Pvp if PvP is not interesting you. This comment is kind of pointless.

Personally I feel the best way to stand up to a schoolyard bul....err 'that sort' of PvPer....is to deny them what they're after. Playing instead in solo or private group works well for that.....and better than combat logging to boot.

But you can bet the carebears will eventually run up against the cheaters... See how that works ?

Mate. You are wrong. This game's crime system is just bad or non-existent. People complain because it's stupid and bad game design. They don't need to be anti-gankers to have the right to complain. But it's an obvious thing. Fdev already promised further C&P changes, which is good. Most good online game's have a robust police/crime system.

If that happened, most of them would be instanced together and those that are instanced with fully modded PvP ships would be slaughtered. Appreciate the sentiment but the network architecture doesn't favor numbers over strength.

Ignoring the problem won't make us kill less sidewinders. If that doesn't bother you, you can stay in Solo/PG. I was talking about Open play, there is no point in arguing open vs solo/pg. If open play doesnt really interest you, you don't really have to comment anymore under this thread.

No number of NPCs will be enough to kill a PvP ship. It has to be a CMDR Initiative to make griefing gone.

This is simply not can be pushed forward as a counter-argument. It suggests that there is no way to kill a PvP ship, which is not true. A 4 person PvP wing will crush a 2 person wing if coordinated and executed properly.

To be honest, I doubt most people actually care about your little pee-vee-pee group. I suspect perhaps Frontier might care if you're repeatedly popping beginner players in one of the starter systems which Frontier place them in when they first load up the game. Be careful you're not poking the wrong hornet's nest my little internet tough guy :)
