The FAStasctic FAS :)

I'm the other end of the scale.

I'm ex-army so I want guns. Big Guns! Lots of Big Guns !! So I use a Cutter :D

Wouldn't you just use a corvette instead (dual huge). Plus, I'm guessing your old school army, as the modern military like smaller shells (to carry more ammo to allow for better suppressive fire).

Who needs shields when you're flying a tank with 3 miles of armour plating. :)
None of which protects exterior subsystems like hardpoints and thrusters.

Honestly, I keep the FAS around as little more than a curiosity. I don't really need it, since I have a Corvette, Battleconda, BattleCutter, FdL, Python, and Vulture, but I also never sell ships (except taxis).

You have 3 layers of defence in the FAS. Agility, shields, and armour. I was in a CZ before and was attacking a clipper. Before I could get him, a cutter decided to rush over to help his friend, and 2 vs 1 like that is bad news for any ship. Luckily I tanked both their shots while I escaped. I only took 15% hull damage, it was hilarious.
The Fer de Lance actually requires skill and spacial awareness.

Or RNGineering. That works too ;).

This. An unskilled pilot in a maxxed out FdL will only succeed in getting themselves killed. It's a katana, not a broadsword (or for those who aren't sword aficionados: a lightsaber, not a blaster).

The FDL is a corvette, the FAS is a lamborghini.

I'm guessing you've never driven a Lamborghini then. I've driven two (Gallardo LP560-4 and Huracan LP610-4), trust me, you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. The FAS is more analogous to a Jeep Wrangler.

My FAS is called the Fabulous Assault Ship. I bought all the paint jobs except the pirate ones, plus all the weapon and engine colours, just so that I could change up the looks every time I take it out. Was very disappointed they didn't have a Gold paintjob for it. It would've much appreciated the bling.

I more meant classic lambos. Good to drive, but if your not careful, it will kill you (FAS is less tanky).

FAS has been my favorite combat ship to date.
Was a bit of a switch from the Vulture to it, used to having shields for days and paper hull, then went hull tanking.

I still remember all the occasions where things would get too hot, and my shields would drop....and having the response of "RAMMING SPEED" rather than run. Then laughing as I collect my credits while the debris from my foe float by while waiting for my shield to recharge.

Currently in a Passenger Conda, which is also my trade conda and explorer conda depending on how I fit it. Ready to get into something nimble again. :D

Still not quite seeing it (I'm probably the biggest Lamborghini nerd here). The FAS lacks that exotic feel that all Lambos have. It's more utilitarian. Plus, not even the Espada came with two coffee makers.

An FdL is a Muscle Car, while the FAS is like a TR-6. The FdL will win a drag race, and put on a good 'smoke show', while the FAS drives rings around it on the road. I know I'd rather have agility to speed in a fight. My FdL collects dust, I'd rather fly a Cliper, and I don't even own one.
