So I thought I'd get a second account as it's on sale. This will allow me to go on a long exploration voyage, without missing out on the bubble 'goid invasion! :eek:

It seems that there are a handful of well paying (10K) missions to get noobs started, and generally it seems easier to get started. Earned 30K in the first hour, and that was with RL distractions.

Ohh - I'm also playing this account in open, just to see what it's like. Wish me luck!

I would give serious consideration to another account if I could basically 'image' my current cmdr to the new account. I have zero interest in doing all the darn grinding again. :mad:

If I had identical cmdrs on different accounts, I'd use one for exploring, and keep the second cmdr in the bubble so I can take BH breaks for when I get bored scanning planets. Best of both worlds. :)

I wonder why FD won't allow this?

Because you could then sell the second 'cloned' account, that come pre loaded with a Corvette, Elite rated and several billion credits, for quite a lot of money in the real world...

Reminds me of a mate of mine in the original Elite. He got Elite, entered a few POKEs (the ZX Spectrum method of hacking code) and found that he was Elite and had a mountain of money. This was 'winning' the game to him. I told him he'd missed the point. :rolleyes:

Go straight to the high RES in Asellus Primus. You'll make 1 mil to 1.5 mil per hour there helping feds kill the bad guys. It's very safe because the bad guys won't shoot back at you as long as the feds shot them first. After the first visit, get a KWS to increase your earning by about 30%. You can upgrade anything you like except the weapons. Speed helps a lot. You don't need better shields because nobody will shoot you.

If you have the base version and start at Trevithick dock, the nearest high RES is Kremainn.

Don't waste your time bounty hunting in anything but high RES.

I reset my cmdr a month or so into the game, and did exactly what you describe. I don't have issue with getting started, credit/ship wise, it's the dang engineers. I absolutely will not go through that crap again.

Well I've got nearly 20 hours on this new account, entirely in open. It has been a lot of fun. I've done both current CGs, avoiding the many CMDR's lurking in system - no grief so far, though I'm sure that some CMDRs were following me, but erratic SC maneuvers were deployed!

Killed several NPC pirates. Winged up with other CMDR's and went Bounty Hunting in Haz Rez. All in a Sidewinder!

I've early got 1 million (yes I know I could have done better - I mean all these N00bs with billions due to Quince and so on :rolleyes:), and with the CG payouts should be over 2 mill. I'm not going to grind on this account, I think once I have an ASP Exp I'll be happy.

Nice! I finally got my alt - had no luck in the RES (so few ships and every other is faster than a sidey to the kill). Decided to do the Palin Thargoid mission in Maia - great fun in a sidey, and now I can afford a Cobra, and I went up FOUR trade ranks - straight to Merchant - which is nice :)

(Seems the price has gone back up to normal now, so looks like I got in just in time)
