So CMDR Aputsiaq messaged me this afternoon. They'd noticed we were approaching 80kly apart and we got to wondering what the biggest distance anyone had seen on their friends list was. I immediately hooked a right and headed out to the edge while Aputsiaq continued to push towards Semotus Beacon. With an unengineered Anaconda, a 40ly Clipper and a spontaneous "let's see what we can manage today" we breached 81kly. This should be easily beatable (I see CMDR Chiggy Vonrictofen is currently the farthest from me of my currently online friends and is past 77kly).

An initial gauntlet is laid down though.

I really hope Fdev implements a delay for long range messages, just for realism sake. For example 1 minute for every 10000Ly.

Cmdr Aputsiaq joined us at the base camp via multicrew too. Unfortunately, I didn't realise MC disables Winging and by the time I got it sorted, there wasn't enough time for Cmdr Aputsiaq to rejoin before the mass jump

Well, that would be too realistic for gameplay. And then, in the name of realism and immersion, many people would just be self-destructing to get back home much faster, and then sell their data backup.

I'm about as far out as it gets...My furthest online friend is CMDR Gramps at 84,498 ly when I took this screen capture...he has since moved another 100y further or so. If he breaks 85Kly I'll grab another screenie,

If Aputsiaq with an unengineered ship and me in a 42 Ly T6 can make it to 81,193Ly apart without much effort, then two engineered Anacondas should be able to break 85,000 easily.
