Fuel for long jumps and how to get to a destination

How can I calculate how much fuel I need and what systems I need to go through to get from a source location to a destination location.

For example, if I am at IBOOTIS A and I wish to get to ROS 1051 for a mission. The mission has these statistics: Jump distance 11.50 LY (required), 6.72 LY (current).

Can I please have some general advice on how to get to the destination correctly, and how much fuel I need (and where to get more fuel on route if needed).

Thanks in advance

The range limit is tied to how far your jumpdrive can take you in a single jump and not how much fuel you can carry: you will have to upgrade to a ship that can make 11.50LY in a single jump, like the Lakon-6.

In this case you need too look for a connecting systems to perform a jump, which are at a closer range too each other so that you are able to perform a jump.

Is this done visually, or can I get a listing of the jumps needed between star systems?

If you access the Galaxy Map, you will be able to see lines connecting the various stars: as long as the star you are in is connected to another, you will be able to jump to the other one.
Do keep in mind that as i mentioned above some ships simply do not have the required jump capability to make some of the jumps, and purchasing weapons, equipment and cargo will impact your maximum jump distance.
In the case of cargo, you do have a slider in the Navigation tab inside the Galaxy Map that will allow you to check if you can still make a jump with n amount of cargo before you actually buy it, so that you can plan your cargo runs.

You can use to Galaxy map to check out jump routes to get to you destination.

There is however one bug atm. Yesterday i got 2 missions where i had the required jump distance, but once i took the mission, the cargo of 6 units reduced my jump distance, so i couldnt complete the missions.

I tested it by selling the cargo, and suddenly i could do the jump. When i bought cargo back i couldnt.

Would be really nice if someone had a jumplimit list for each ship.

That's not a bug, that's the way it works. I do, however, think that you should'nt have been able to accept the mission, since the game could easily figure out that you didn't have the range for it.

Also, the star map really needs the option to click on a far away system, and get a list of jumps to get there (would be nice if this would also automatically update the jump target when you arrive at one of the waypoints). But I believe that sort of thing is planned.
