The Big Silent Feature Of Horizons & Priorities For Beyond

Dude - it’s not a conspiracy.

When everyone disagrees with you, it’s time to re-evaluate your own opinion.

Alternatively, just add every person in this thread to your ignore list so you don’t have to hear different opinions in future.

Who said anything about a conspiracy? :S

A good answer to that question would be: what does that have to do with math?

Well, eagle brought up something about knowing or not knowing math while taking the discussion sideways.

When you claim to be the only one who's right, and anyone who disagrees is wrong (even when that's nearly everyone), you start to sound like a conspiracy theorist.

Lol, where did I make this claim? And where did the 'everyone is wrong' come from? I think your Google translate isn't working, or you're reading what you want to read and not what was written.

Well, the forum moderators have already deleted most of your snarky posts in this thread where you derided other users for disagreeing with you.

This one still remains:

Great to see the predictable personal snipes from the few, and not replying with anything related to the discussion which was about development priorities which is at times quite questionable.

Guess this means that many are fine with the fact that developing support for purchasing cosmetics is just as important or more important than placing that same effort into developing the core game. I'm certainly not since the purchasing part was working just fine and the changes in-game still points one to the website. Seems others can't accept this opinion.

Maybe we'll see this trend continue in Beyond, and perhaps the non-beige planet solution will appear as new planet-paints in the store. Would folks be happy with that? Think about the message FDev hears. Now go back and enjoy the new revamped search and rescue missions or take part in saving the galaxy from the exciting Thargoid invasion with your multicrew. Or maybe it's more fun to go play with paints and hairdos... :)

So, are you now saying you accept that most people disagree with you because they have a different opinion to you, and not because they are just white knights/fanboys as you previously suggested?

As a software engineer, I'd say the underlying code is more complicated than you're envisioning. The MC / SRV restriction is probably due to a few issues, like the net code (the other player needs to do more than just sit there - perhaps he should be able to shoot or turn the turret, etc.) The upper seat may need to be redesigned for MP, like the ships required. Changes to a large codebase like ED, are almost NEVER "a few more lines" of code.

I have no idea why there's a restriction on MC and outfitting, but it's likely to be due to a code issue. Perhaps the other players couldn't see the outfitting changes applied to the ship. Speaking from experience, sometimes all it takes is 1 little bug to cause my boss to ask for a feature to removed, especially when the product is getting close to shipping.

I wasnt talking about boarding the owner's srv, but deploying a second one from his ship. And ofc is a few more lines of codes. At least 100 people are working there only for ED as far as we know. It is a few lines of codes for half of them. 50 PEOPLE should be able to deploy a second srv on a few minutes. Ofc as a side effect the mission board material rewards would be messed up for once more, but hey..

Lol exaggerate much? Okay, one of my posts directed towards one character (who tried to take this thread off on a different track 30 seconds after the thread was posted) was deleted. Majority of cleanup was from others who stooped to personal attacks which is all too frequent on the Internet these days.

What I said in this thread is that IMO it was a poor decision to spend resources widening this game rather than deepening it. We're now at the end of the paid expansion and in retrospect and seeing what was delivered, it really would have been nice to see Dev priority remain focused on the core gameplay and not frivolous things. Resources are always limited and things must be prioritized. Others posted their opinions. And it is interesting to read how folks rationalize what has been done with statements about being easy to code, etc., when they have absolutely no clue about the effort.

At the end of the day it's the message that's being sent to FDev that's important. If the voices here really want more fluff, more "lipstick" versus real gameplay content like real multicrew gameplay or real crime and punishment then that's too bad for the game's future. More cosmetics won't save this game in the long run.

That's because you are British. I bet I could make a coffee out of my socks and it would be decent for you ;) :D
I'm like totally Dutch you know. And I'll have you know that my coffee is notorious for dissolving the spoon.

With all the heavy whipping cream and sugar I had in it I'm afraid the keys will stick. The keyboard has to be able to keep with my lightening fast wit!
Sticky keys, heavy whipping, yeah, I'm going to let that one pass. Mods would not be pleased and the community would have to do without me for week.

I was wondering if you would pass up the bait or succumb to temptation. I'm proud of you, but also a little bit disappointed, too.

I stand corrected, most Dutchmen know how to make a good coffee!
