The Bleia Permit Zone

At my current pace, I think I'll reach Bleia either late Sunday or Monday. It depends how much I can take, as I have found the best way to avoid burning out (me, not the ship) is to take regular breaks so that I don't have play sessions longer than about two hours. Even so, I don't have the energy for too many sessions in one day, even when I have the time. Hyponia to Bleia is about as far as Sol to Sgr A* and I think I'm about half way, so not bad going given that I left on Wednesday! Fly safe o7

That is pretty good going! I'm in no rush to move on from here, so don't feel too much pressure to race here. I probably won't get much more than two or three hours in over the weekend either, so I'll it's likely I'll still be near the Bleia5 nebula by the time you get here.

I've drifted corewards in my route plotting, so I'm not going to be able to reach Bleia today. Currently about 4 to 4.5 KLY away. That's just about doable tomorrow evening, so hopefully see you soon! Fly safe o7

No worries, I've hardly been on this weekend.

That said, I have found a decent start point for a route that goes from one of the closest points to the Bleia5 nebula all the way down to the Tailfire nebula, tracking the permit-zone border for much of it. The route covers about 1200LYs including one or two optional neutron stars. The star density is very high, so there'll be no problem down-stepping it to shorter jump distances and skipping neutron jumps altogether.

What time zone are you in BTW?

I'm UK based, so GMT now (clocks went back the weekend before last here).
.
EDIT: Just reached the Bleia borders this evening but I'm too tired to do anything now, which was brought home to me strongly by finding one of those awkward systems: yes it has an Earth-like World, great; said Earth-like is circumbinary (at least, not 100% sure how many stars it orbits thinking about it now), which is great; there are enough landable bodies that it has a fair chance at having all the materials needed for FSD boosting, great; it is 430 Kls away from the jump-in point, no thanks, not today.

Personally, my prediction is that these permit zones are for future "Paid Premium Content"
Am I the only one thinking this? I think FD rumored or confirmed future paid premium content recently.
I can only imagine what kind of content they would expect us to pay for but I'm sure I'll pay it. Same as any game expansion IMO.
Hand crafted star systems with unique or interesting features? Alien races? Ancient ruins? Collectibles that give you access to crafting or engineering not otherwise reachable? Wormholes that transport you to far reaches?
I expect these regions will likely be subdivided into smaller areas each with their own permit and separately purchasable content.

This is quite possible, perhaps even likely. A single permit-locked region 1KLY across will have more systems than the current human bubble - that's a lot of content to fill. I suspect that should it ever happen, there will be a mixture of procedurally-placed content (space and surface bases) and some hand-placed content relevant to the storyline behind that particular 'expansion' (for want of a better term). I suspect that it would happen first with the regional permits near the bubble, not 35KLY away at Bleia, though.

I've reached the vicinity of the Tailfire Nebula. I'll try to meet up with CMDR Gibbonici and do some joint scanning for a few days. Given the size of the Bleia permit zone (there are really five all bundled together), I plan to stay here for about two weeks, regardless. So far my most interesting finding has been an Ammonia World in a system with a T Tauri star that has a 'mass code' of E, which is very rare.

Ha, well you've got ahead of me now then ;) I've not had a lot of game time this week so far due to one thing and another, so I'm still at that start of that Tailfire route I mentioned in my last post. I should have some time tomorrow evening, it being Friday and all, so I'll head down to the Tailfire nebula and we can meet up there.

Oh, and I'm UK too so at least we'll be on the same clock.
