Skyrim reinstalled - Mod help

I spent the weekend playing Skyrim, I love that game.
Unfortunately, I don't recall the the best mods out there.
I have Skyrim Vanilla, no extras
The official hi res paks
Skyrim SKSE

nexus mod manager
Sku UI - I did remember that one, a must have
Skyrim 2K textures - Does this interfere with the hi res paks? *Confiused* https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/607/?

Looking to make the game look better, I have the GPU to handle it.
What would you suggest on top of, or instead of the official hi res stuff?

*Edit* Shearpoint. Took out the dragon, forgot about Krosis, I'm way too early in the game to be taking him on. Not going to push him off a cliff either, will have to get more powerful before trying again.

*Edit2* Just purchased the 3 DLC why not, it's been 5 years that I've played the game...

Guess I'll have to try out all the pretty extras, like weapons, armour, etc on top of the hi res paks.

My approach is usually by identifying things that I find annoying and then trying to find a mod that fixes that problem, anything from changing Transmute ore spell to change iron to silver before silver to gold, to complete perk overhauls like Ordinator.

It's usually not a problem adding mods as you go, just don't remove them unless you have a save that you can revert to before you installed a mod that you didn't want afterall. There are save cleaner tools that work fairly well, but it is not recommended that you uninstall a mod mid-save, there will be crap left behind and can cause problems. Shouldn't be a problem with texture mods though.

I have no idea, we'll see what happens to my library, and account after I install the DLC.
There was no option, or note when I was logged in.
*Creation club credits?

Question, I have installed this mod, is there a trick to editing the options? Right now my mod section shows only skyUI. Do I have to activate a mission first?

Hmmm, i may have to start a new game to have newly added mods activate.

Heh, I just reinstalled Skyrim too. But I accidentally installed the special edition one. Which has less mods.

My suggestion, is go to Skyrim nexus, and sort the nods by top 100.

Then pretty much download all the non conflicting ones. Lol

I had 108 mods running once.
So nice, so pretty, such features, much story.


No fps.. lol

Likely that's what happened, MCM dependant mods can fail to load the SkyUI mod options if added during a playthrough. I've not had this happen with that particular mod, but I've had it happen on other mods like Swift Potion Reborn, couldn't get it to work until I started a fresh save after I upgraded to a newer version.

Are you using the Nexus mod manager and LOOT to auto arrange the load order of your mods?

It's quite important, to otherwise avoid nasty issues. Usually CTDs. Lol

Ok, retried my mod installs last night (thanks for all the tips), free NMM account makes for sloooooow d-loads, but here's what I've got:
Loot
Mods
skyui
Unnofficial pak
skyrim HD 2k pak
owngoldenglow estate
glowing ore
quality world map
immersive armours
immersive weapons
SMIM
realistic water2
enhanced light & FX
timing is everything
couple more relating to ice, and other minor graphics

Had to start a new game, that's why my mods were not working before, i was loading an autosave (where you choose your character) from a long time ago.

Looks good, there are a couple of mods I highly recommend for RP and more freedom to build your character.

Alternate Start - Live Another Life by Arthmoor (creator of the unofficial patch)

This lets you choose from a wide variety of gamestarts, awaken as a warlock's thrall, begin the game in one of the guilds including Dawnguard or perhaps begin life in a tavern in a town of your choosing. Let's you choose when to start the dragonborn mainquest and allows you to ignore it except if you want to advance in the civil war questline. Great mod if you are tired of Helgen each time you want to create a new character, the vanilla start is still available for you, only difference is that you create your character before the wagonride down the mountain.


Cutting Room Floor by Arthmoor

Unfinished quests, items, spells and NPCs that were left out of the release version of Skyrim, actors and voicefiles are still in the game and this mod restores alot of what Bethesda never got to finish.


Word Walls Relocated by Kazopert

Brilliant mod for those who loathe the idea of having your character join all the guilds to unlock shouts. Why should my mage have to associate with warriors and thieves to reach his full potential as Dovahkiin.


I think I'll stop there before the list gets longer. :)

I also recommend;
Climates of tamriel, for awesome weather.
Bandoliers(spelling?), Bags and pouches, if you your carrying limits annoy you.

Minty's lightning, so you (or your horse) can be struck by lightning. Lol (just kidding, damage can be disabled, but it looks cool).

Convenient Horses, for horses, that are convenient.

Deadly dragons, for if dragons become to easy, why not make them impossible? :p

All of the unofficial patches, because Devs suck sometimes. :p

Unread books glow. Just a good feature unless you like picking stuff up. Can be adjusted to just show spell books.

Plus so many more.

Nexus Mods

If I did that right, it should list all the top mods. If not, chose to list all the most endorsed mods. :p

Install them all!

If you have plenty of spare GPU power, I recommend Real Vision ENB too.
It used to take a massive hit on my old GPU, but I haven't tested it on my new one yet. But it looks amazing .
