HAZ RES Bounty hunting profit question.

I currently make about 4-5M Cr per hours in a HiRes. I tend to set myself goals to stop getting bored or jaded. I either stay in the zone until I have made 'x' amount of CRs, but normally I set a timer for say 60 minutes or whatever and when the time is up, I leave, no lingering. Makes that last 15 minutes or so rather hectic at times lol

In regard to having the System Authority ships helping out, sometimes they can be a hindrance as well. Not talking about when you accidently shot the wrong ship and they all instantly turn on you for your now massive 200C bounty either. For example, last night was a classic, the HiRes was performing nicely, lots of Anacondas, Pythons, Clippers and FdL (for some reason the FdL's were always the highest bounties) and subsequently the SA responded with one wing of 2 Ana's and a Viper, one wing of three Vipers, one wing of one Ana and two Pythons, plus assorted single SA's flying around, the scope was full of green. The problem was that by the time I identified a wanted ship, and completed the KWS, the SA ships had often already destroyed the target, especially if the target was small like a Viper/ASP/Cobra (even these where paying over 100,000 bounties). There were some giggles as well, watched this lowly wanted Eagle weave between a bunch of big green law enforcement types to open fire on a clean Hauler. All the SA Anacondas and Pythons opened up at once, I don't think that poor eagle lasted more than two seconds lol

Wait, what?

Is that what the OP is trying to do?

I might be wrong but I thought missions were the only thing that count toward naval rank?
I'm sure I've read people saying they planned to bounty-hunt for naval rank and getting told it doesn't work.

That's correct, bounties get you both minor faction and superpower rep but they do nothing for naval rank.

Sorry for the confusion, I know the grind involved in Fed rank is best done with data deliveries. I'm just getting the credits first before fully dedicating to endless data runs.

Fair enough. [up]

If that's what you are trying to do, I'd suggest you concentrate on a way to amass credits using one of the currently popular methods (such as Palin's missions etc) and then just buy the rank afterwards.

Last week I helped somebody complete the Fed' rank grind and it took them, literally, 2 days to complete the last 4 ranks.
All I did was open the galaxy map, look for Fed' systems in Famine and then scoot across to EDDB and look up that system to see how many Fed' factions were present there.
First couple of systems we looked at only had about 2 or 3 Fed' factions.
The next one was the "jackpot". It had something like 7 Fed' factions all at one station.

Went there and there were donation missions floating around like confetti.
I left him to it but it took him 2 evenings and Cr300m to buy his way through the last 4 ranks.

If you're starting from nothing, I wouldn't recommend you try to do it all in one go.
You really should accept that naval rank is a big thing which is intended to take a long while.

With that said, if it was me, what I'd do would be to go to Maia, earn Cr100m or so, find a suitable Fed' system in Famine, spend the Cr100m on donation missions and earn a couple of ranks.
With that done, go and do something fun for a few days and then have another crack at it.
It'll probably take you a month or more to complete but at least you won't feel dead inside as a result of the constant grind.

Best of luck. [up]

For me, the Haz Rez offers much good source material as well as bounties, I have a corvette with 128 units of cargo space which is fully loaded with limpets when I go farming., this, with x2 Class 5 Collector limpet controllers, I farm every kill, and if each limpet collects 3 or 4 (approx) items of material before expiring, a single trip can ensure you significant numbers of items towards various engineering projects, this, to the point that In all but about 8 possible Manf.material, I now have about 50 to 60 of each one " ïn stock" by constantly farming the rez, then trading up as soon as I hit a maximum inventory count on any of the lower class items. As said above, with a rating of 5 in Powerplay, I get also get 100% bonus on each bounty and 20 to 30 mil a day is not uncommon. Add to this, that I hate and detest thieves, so killing them in the game is extremely is something I find satisfying...but hey, perhaps I am a little bit twisted .....:)

So sorry,
so killing them in the game is extremely is something I find satisfying . dooooooh

No-one discusses HazRES payouts anymore! I'm guessing because no-one gives a sh*t about credits as they are now meaningless - well done, Frontier. I remember getting -relatively - really excited when I could afford an upgrade & positively orgasmic when a new ship was on the shopping list! This is now an anachronistic pleasure, of course; if credits are one's raison d'etre then a quick google can find the current meta exploit (eww, I might rephrase that! EDIT: No need, North Korean forums took care of it for me!:p)
