Now I KNOW the Devs have a sense of humour!! NPC Pilot names... :)

So... I'm causally scanning whist heading in to complete a mission and obtain some spacebucks.

1 Contact... Scanning...

Wait for it...

"Captain Cockroach" [haha][haha][haha][haha]

Well Played FD... Well Played! [up][up]

Many NPCs are named by original backers.
Others' names are simply generated from the pool of words.

When comes to cpt. Cockroach, I guess either of these is possible. :D

You'll spot famous names too. I didn't know about the kickstarter names at the time so I made a post about seeing Jimi Hendrix

I found one with my actual real name. Yet Im not one of the original kickstarters. I was tempted to shoot them but I was busy in an unarmed ship transporting passengers. God help me if I see myself again when Im in an armed ship.

I do know they recycle names in an instance! Last night I killed the same NPC commander three times, funny enough each time was in a smaller ship, first in a Python, then in a Cobra IV and finally in an unshielded Eagle. Normally I wouldn't bother with an Eagle but he took exception to me attacking his Wing mate and wouldn't take no as an answer lol Also he must have been busy in the few minutes immediately after the equivalent of the NPC rebuy screen cos he managed to accrue some healthy bounties each time, even the Eagle kill was around 15K C.

My favourite one thus far has been "Terrorist Leader Isaac Newton" in the... wait for it.... Isis system. Yup, that's a thing that happened XD

i've found npcs named fluttershy and hatsune miku. there were some others i found that gave me a good chuckle too, i forgot what they were exactly but i think it was something dumb like poopyhead. [haha]

I knew I would find a use for this screene some day... :D

I like the ones that match actual CMDR names of people I know.

I've killed that jerk Withnail more than once.

Double standards FD! Using that phrase as a ship name will result with censorship kicking in. Because language issues. But it's perfectly fine as a NPC... Double standards indeed!

"NPCs don't cheat!" Indeed.
