PvP Edward Lewis: The Revenge

serious? no... I don't care, the only serious players in this game are the ones that go crazy when I blow them.

What fraction of players would you estimate "go crazy" when you do? Are they more or less common than ones who are indifferent about the experience?

Many do, few spill out into local chat... some just shouldn't be playing video games for their and others safety.

Watch your own stream. The first thing you say is "**** off nerd"....

That was in response to my friendly message "Delta Squadron Enforcement Unit - Reduce speed & prepare to be boarded".

The second thing you say to me is "suck it nerd".

So no I didnt see anything about a charity stream in your text, just insults.

Family friendly stuff guys!

Fame.

Fame in killing a Frontier Employee.

The same way killing a Microsoft / Bungie Employee rewards you with exclusive items in game to show you killed a Dev.

Climbing Mt Everest achieves what exactly?
Collecting Stamps achieves what exactly?
Playing Elite Dangerous achieves what exactly?
Visiting Hutton Orbital achieves what exactly?

Everyone has different goals in this game. For some people it's being able to say they killed a Dev in the game they played.

It's an Achievement.

What fame?
Also. Killing someone in Destiny/ or Halo doesn't take anything away from the stream. It's a game entirely focused on PvP. Its expected. The fact he has to head into a private group to accomplish story components for a live stream is somewhat disappointing.
I guess I can chuckle when he's had enough and only streams from private groups because people can't exhibit even the most remote form of self control.
I'm all about a good gank but if you're making someone's JOB hard in the process it doesn't entirely make sense.

Not like I can do anything about it. I actually feel bad for the guy.

I mean, he was mostly harmless and in a DBX.

It's incredibly hard to miss in some of them [where is it]
Anyhow, that's atleast part of the answer to your question concerning fame.

I guess I'm over looking how other people could be enamored by it
I find some of those areas mentioned can be a little to drama filled for me.
I enjoy a good salt show but some people take it so far.

Why was he not outfitted for defence though?
Thats not how you play in the best mode (OPEN).

Yeah, I'm not blaming the ganker, I'm just saying that there's no merit in doing it. Seal club if you want, step on an insect if you want, most people won't be amazed by that.

I've pretty much left discord.

Much of the issue is that people have a level of expectation that the devs of this game will understand it well enough to build a ship that will get them through a single ganker, its not like the game has that much depth it takes weeks to learn... this ain't eve. better yet if the devs that will be streaming need advice there is sooo much of it out there that you could if you really wanted to just pick up a build from a discord and be good to go.

Killing a dev is somewhat rewarding at first but I think many of the gankers are simply doing it in protest, to send a message that open is broken.

I'm actually hitting the suggestions forum this weekend.

You should also. Don't know if they read it but...

I can't complain but offer nothing

I simply suspect they don't have too much time to play, but they sure know most game mechanics, just not that many techinques.

I'm also skeptical about the protest idea.

Well that's untrue... even with limited time to play you can learn how to avoid and get away from a gank with ease, its not some secret that PVP groups keep to themselves.

Well the protest thing is not unrealistic given the issue the game has, some of them have gone unanswered for months and even years now... if you looked at this forum about a year ago it was a different place, say a bad thing about Fdev and it starts a flame fest, these days the complaints are coming thick and fast, mainly because the devs elected to ignore the issues players where facing and instead deployed update after update that players didn't want and didn't even work. (See CQC and PowerPlay).

Now for me personally I don't care about the devs streaming, if I can be bothered I will go attack, its not like the streams have any content anyway... its just Ed jumping... again... and again. nothing gained nothing lost when he gets ganked.
