It's tied to mission rank, not your own rank. That was my mistake.

Also, this only applies to mission rewards, I have no idea what affects the data drops from beacon scans and the like

First time there I think you have to navigate using co-ords 41.3, -31.8 or something like that. Afterwards I noted its in my nav panel. But prior to that it wasnt, despite going and scanning the nav beacon.

Since MEF is also not a 'mission only' reward, and the mission boards are positively swimming in them I'm afraid I find the quoted statement somewhat amusing. Like the black humour in a Greek tragedy...

Anyway, davs hope is the place to go for CIF.

I always got some CIF here and there doing missions the past weeks, it wasn't the most common mission reward but I got enough.

There are other imbalances too, but CIF ain't one.

There's nothing 'appropriate' about the difficulty of gathering G4 mats vs G5 mats. G5 are INVARIABLY easier to farm than most g4 and g3.

That doesn't mean I don't believe that CIF are currently in a good place. Nor does it mean I want to nerf MEF drops. I would be happy with player tradeable materials.

I've got a good number of CIF, but they were more difficult to come by than the EFCs and MEF that I have. The fact that they are available at all is wonderful and I'm hesitant to "rock the boat" by trying to make any changes.

Really the material broker would solve a lot of these issues. If there was an "oops" during an upgrade and EFC disappears again, that would be ok, because we could just go to the broker for it. If CIF doesn't drop as much as EFC or MEF, that's fine. Just collect the EFC and MEF and trade it in for CIF.

Really seems like a good solution. IMHO.
