RIP thread, sent to the land of squirrels, ponies and watches.

UK Law does not allow for unlimited Freedom of Speech and criminal charges are not only possible but commonly issued in regard to speech that is deemed "hateful" or "discriminatory" towards certain protected classes. There are also protections in place against slanderous or defamatory speech.

Other than the above considerations a private website operator is entitled to censor or promote speech in any way they see fit, for any reason or, indeed, for no reason at all. For example, if every forum member with red hair was banned tomorrow for the literal reason "Lol, Gingers" there would be nothing any of them could do about it as Red Haired People are not a protected class. Neither are covemen, so I'm afraid you'll just have to like it, lump it, or raise a complaint through the existing forum complaints process.

So you would suggest racist or sexist moderation on forums is lawful?

Well then congrats for for making my 1%. Your posting history speaks for itself.

My views are honestly expressed.

Clearly you are a fan of North Korean style censorship.

No as hateful or discriminatory speech based on Race or Gender is *specifically* protected. Also Nationality, Ethnicity, Religion or Sexual Orientation. I think I might be missing one or two in there but I'm sure you get the point.

Meanwhile, in the mod lair..

I'm talking about moderation not speech.

Censorship on any grounds is the issue here.
