I've been watching Twitch streams of 3.0 all day, and I've yet to see any gameplay.

A couple of folk have moved cargo around, but since all the prices are the same, that's a bit pointless. I've not seen anyone take, or complete any sort of mission yet. All the streamers seem to fly to Levski, get the Ursa, drive around aimlessly for a while until it inevitably glitches, and that's about it.

Doesn't seem like there's actually anything to do, beyond flying/walking around?

It looks like they have made a more wonky, a better looking and more demanding (stolen from Discord: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/157643206631227393/383361819747680258/unknown.png) version of Elite premium beta with a shade of Horizons 2.0.

I don't think so. I'll check again later, but all I've seen are catatonic NPCs, some pretty lighting, and people tooling around a couple of moons that would make a Clanger blush (at least until they glitch through the surface and fall into the the Nether Realm).

~$160 million and they're be left in the dust by Infinity:Battlescape (which something I wholeheartedly approve of :D )

Well so far I am seeing really nice eye candy visuals some improved sound&music effects and some new game play mechanics involved from other side Flight mechanics are still lacking and there is a lot of bugs....
Here some more 3.0/Exploring Levski/

SC is getting better, But they're taking soooooooooo long about it.

Honestly, I'd have expected this level of progress after a couple of years, and maybe $30m.

There is no excuse for this lack of progress given the time and money they've been given.

I has a sad :(

agree, that is the sad part, people give them money to tool around and get educated [hotas][wacko]

Considering its size, Daymar's gravity would be about 0.03g, so balancing on your retros shouldn't be hard.
The question is why everyone is running around like it's 1g?

Some lovely visuals in there (minus the nasty popping) on the surface rocks.

Another sad gameplay design, the only navigation map sc have is via the pathetic mobiglass, even when you are sitting in the cockpit of a spaceship, those ships have no ability to provide you with map.

Just utter fail game design.

The map itself as I expected since I first saw it from the 2016 demo would be utterly terrible to use and it turned out just like that, an utterly terrible map with horrid and garbage usability; it already made players struggle to navigate around 2 planets and 3 moons, lol.

You must not be a pilot, as today’s maps still suck butt, you need an iPad for planes dated 2003 and earlier!

From 51:15, I think their rover has a slight design problem... a distinct lack of rove.

I actually wanted to see if he could hop out of the vehicle and push it over. Seems like a great use for space legs! Alas, it wasn't to be.

Genuine Roberts just needs to invent a srimech from the 90's :D

Maybe on commercial (or small, low tech) planes but on military/combat jet, especially 4+ and newer gen (f16 or newer) jets you can have real time map in the mfd already.

I'd expect 30th century spaceships to have that feature.

Praise lord Braben that ED has it, even if it require non fidelitious hand waiving separate magic screen, at least in ED universe the pilots won't have arm cramps, unlike that mobiglass :D

The question is why everyone is running around like it's 1g?

Oh come on. It took them years to do the character anims for characters in 1G (in a game engine that supports character anims for 1G out of the box). You want them to start having the animations change based on gravity? :O

This looks waaay smoother than any of the live streaming stuff I've seen. I'm particularly thinking of Wfosaurus, who has a 980 ti like the specs quoted for the video, but was getting 10-25 fps on the big yellow dustball (Daymar?) and I think (but can't confirm) they were running it at 1080p. Do other players impact performance even when nowhere near? I think said there were 50 players on the server, but he was quite alone.

As a veteran of gaming in the 80s, I found the 20 ish fps OK to watch, but would probably find it sluggish to play; I remember in the first ED alpha I was getting similar frame rates because it was using my integrated graphics instead of my dedicated GPU, and that felt fairly unresponsive. Once I found out how to force the GPU, performance was much better.

The audio seems to be much improved. I wonder if CIG made everything louder in atmosphere.

was flying a freelancer, and the view is still abysmal... Maybe it helps the framerat though like the tiny game windows in the early games.

I saw an exterior view of a player landing on a planet, and the top thrusters were firing off to move down!

Also, said something about speed restrictions in atmosphere, 260 m/s I think, which made the travel I saw particularly painful. Daymar looked pretty to start with, but monotony soon set in. He approached Shubin on foot for the last 1.3 km or so, possibly anticipating a difficult landing closer in due to lower frame rates.

Depends how much space sim they want in their space sim :D

I wonder what this was all about? The Content has been removed from Discord now. Sometimes hard to anticipate if it will be (or was) something interesting or an unnecessary "drama". https://twitter.com/dsmart/status/933886476437413888?s=17
