It's a little late for the competition. Been a hectic month, just didn't have the time to write.

But I still want to write one because I think there's an enjoyable story in the escapades of CMDR Alonya Ruslana and her Cobra Mk III, the Merlin's Prophecy.

More to the point, if I do, can I post the story on this board? Wouldn't want to break any rules, so I'm wondering if there's any sub-forum on the Frontier boards where this is allowed?

Thanks.

I'd say if you want to write something go for it. I did it for years with my Eve character.

I build my own blog for it though so not sure about posting on the boards but the Roleplaying sub forum might be the way to go...

Who cares about a competition, do it anyway. You'll get better at it and when an opportunity comes around again, you'll be ready for it.
Not sure if you knew of this, but every November is NaNoWriMo ... National Novel Writing Month where people try to write about 1,250 words per day in 30 days to have a 50,000 word first draft of a novel.

There is also the Drabble contest. There's plenty of time to enter that. You have until Thursday Night, but the great thing about it is that you are restricted to exactly 100 words (not including the title) so it doesn't take long to dash out a Drabble

The story should be set in the Elite universe and the topic for this week is "Season's Greetings"

I'll need a little more practice for that. I have an awful tendency to use a huge amount of words for a single event. Thanks for the link though, for future reference. I'm correct in thinking these drabble contests are fairly regular?

Oh the images the word "regular" conjures in my mind.

They happen every week regular are clockwork, come rain, shine, drought of good Drabbles. Please don't let this week's selection colour your opinion of the contest.
