Christmas songs for the Docking Computer instead of Blue Danube

It's the season of the year!

How about giving some Christmas flair to it by replacing the "The blue Danube" soundfile for the Docking Computer with

"Deck the Halls", "Twelve Days of Christmas", or "Carol of the Bells" (The latter being my favourite)?

I'd surely love to experience that...!

...or maybe piped in the stations....maybe some Christmas lights strung up on a few stations in the bubble. Lol

Never mind the stations let's have the Xmas Tree bobble back in the store and add in a string of blinking lights to drape over the canopy! :D

The docking music is a tribute to 2001 A Space Odyssey, replacing it with christmas music would be appalling. I hear Christmas music at the supermarkets constantly, they play it on radio and on TV every five minutes even at the most inappropriate spots, people sing it on the streets and in the parks, to be so gauche as to replace the docking music with christmas music might be enough to stop me playing over christmas. You can have your santa claus bobble heads, you can decorate the inside of your ships with confetti, streamers and a christmas tree if you like, you are the only one who senses will be assaulted by your appallingly bad taste, kindly don't attempt to subject us all to it as well by replacing the docking music with christmas music and decorating the space stations in christmas themes.

Taste is highly subjective and not objective.

Having some colourful lights in your life wouldn't hurt, We're dead for a very long time and in death there is no colour, Only earthworms.

I don't share your enthusiasm for a event which was plagiarised/stolen from the PAGANS and turned into a garish commercial festival. Must everyone in the "Verse" be subjected to cheesy jingles, how many times do you want to hear "Rudolph the red nosed reindeer" before you hit the mute button or ask Zeus and Hermes for divine intervention.

Yes it is, and your idea of colourful lights may be tedious, tawdry and boring to lots of others, so why do you feel the need to impose it on other people?

And apart from that, just who do you think you are telling me I need colour in my life, some sort of all seeing spectre peeking over my shoulder tut tutting because I don't have exactly the same tastes as you? If Christmas decoration and boring music is your idea of colour I suggest, as I did before, you keep it in your own cockpit where you can enjoy it and not stick it in my face. Can't be fairer that that right?

Please, never do this! Xmas songs tend to grate after a while so playing them to people in an armed ship will end up in carnage (and many huge fines) :D
I must admit that I do have the docking music turned off as I can't stand it.
Xmas tree bobble head would be fun to have back, though.

Fun fact: the blue danube is the hold music for Hillingdon borough council planning department, so you can imagine docking while waiting the inevitable 20mins for an answer.

Look... I escape the reality of it being piped everywhere there is a retail store.. Why in all that's unholy do I want it included in the games I play?!

Interesting idea, but no, please no

(I have an Amazon Echo belting out Christmas songs every evening after work, so I'm good!)

lol, I have apparently attracted the Scrooge's to this thread...all the Bah Humbug's flying. :D I understand, to some this time of the year is just a commercialized racket like "Lucy" says. But to others, its the best time, full of cheer, family and friends.

For the record I am Buddhist and this isn't something that I generally celebrate. And do you remember the humourous lines from Phoebe Cates in Gremlins about how she handles the holiday season? Take away the humour, add butt-tons of needless Home for the Holidays drama and that's the source of my holiday cheer.

Please; share the holiday spirit close to home. Don't inflict some of us with it too.. I have enough reasons to drink myself to detox as it is this time of year.

Cheers!

You know guys,

for a forum, where you have redundant complains about the game being a "soulless sandbox" without any palbable reason to commit or engage yourself in (and lacking player interactions), I find it odd that one of the most popular holidays worldwide shouldn't be celebrated publicly with at least that little feature implemented, that you even can either turn off or turn the volume down for.

:(

Try to look for the positive side of things, light up a candle in your life and share joy and happiness with others for a while. You are not alone in the void (unless you play Solo, of course...)

Really?? So you're saying that in order to put soul into the game... we should be enduring the yearly cacophony of holiday music into the game? The very thing that is said to cause stress during the holidays?

I believe that there are far larger issues going on that Holiday music is the least of the concerns for this game.
