You know guys,
for a forum, where you have redundant complains about the game being a "soulless sandbox" without any palbable reason to commit or engage yourself in (and lacking player interactions), I find it odd that one of the most popular holidays worldwide shouldn't be celebrated publicly with at least that little feature implemented, that you even can either turn off or turn the volume down for.
Try to look for the positive side of things, light up a candle in your life and share joy and happiness with others for a while. You are not alone in the void (unless you play Solo, of course...)
Really !, so everyone who isn't like you is a scrooge, next you're going to intimate that anyone who doesn't like this Plagiarised Pagan holiday is UNPATRIOTIC or un-western, make my stake from teak please it burns hotter.lol, I have apparently attracted the Scrooge's to this thread...
"Wine maketh Merry"......But to others, its the best time, full of cheer, family and friends.
I seem to remember that in Frontier there was a selection of pieces that could be played, or none at all during docking. Perhaps a wider selection of music (including Christmas) could be made available?
................. if you'r like me, and I know I am, ...............
Yes it is, and your idea of colourful lights may be tedious, tawdry and boring to lots of others, so why do you feel the need to impose it on other people?
And apart from that, just who do you think you are telling me I need colour in my life, some sort of all seeing spectre peeking over my shoulder tut tutting because I don't have exactly the same tastes as you? If Christmas decoration and boring music is your idea of colour I suggest, as I did before, you keep it in your own cockpit where you can enjoy it and not stick it in my face. Can't be fairer that that right?
The docking music is a tribute to 2001 A Space Odyssey, replacing it with christmas music would be appalling. I hear Christmas music at the supermarkets constantly, they play it on radio and on TV every five minutes even at the most inappropriate spots, people sing it on the streets and in the parks, to be so gauche as to replace the docking music with christmas music might be enough to stop me playing over christmas. You can have your santa claus bobble heads, you can decorate the inside of your ships with confetti, streamers and a christmas tree if you like, you are the only one who senses will be assaulted by your appallingly bad taste, kindly don't attempt to subject us all to it as well by replacing the docking music with christmas music and decorating the space stations in christmas themes.
Technically speaking, the docking music is a tribute to the music from the main title screen of the original Elite game, published in 1984.![]()
