PvP Thargoid hunting season is finished

There's a part of me that wants to like what you're doing. RP-wise, I agree with it...and frankly, have thought about maybe even doing the same. I'm vehemently against the current "shoot first" diplomacy. As someone who has yet to fire upon anything alien, I understand why we might want to dissuade human aggression.

But then I look at it again and I see a dedicated PvP'er without a whiff of in-game RP attacking people whom he knows are otherwise engaged and damaged...and have weapons equipped that can do very little damage to him. I look at it again and it feels a little "griefy."

The guy was not even fighting you and you were doing all sorts of evasive manoeuvres lol

But this is what makes people play in solo, groups... They really want to play in Open, but you only have guts to attack them when they have no weapons to fight back.

Man you suck.

They were running away, they were not stationary, with frags you need to be around 500m from the target so I have to follow, you would know it if you had any clue of how to play this game.

1 v 1 me any time

I like the production you added. Wouldn't that be hilarious if it were efforts like yours that save humanity from the Thargoid menace by averting a war? [haha]

I see a senseless slaughtering of helpless creatures by griefers who outnumber them, I will not stand and watch those atrocities.

Did you see the cops in the video? they were chasing an unarmed guy, while outnumbering him, with weapons and faster (god modded) police cars, in spite all this did he not deserve it though?

I didn't watch the whole video and in the bits I watched, no, I didn't see any cops. I saw a wanted CMDR (you) attacking a clean CMDR (other guy). I'm not saying they aren't in there. I just didn't see them.

I get it. I wish we would stop shooting the bugs...and honestly have thought about doing some RP interdicting out in the Pleiades....I just don't think that's what this video represented.

Dude.. you posted this video to impress.. you impressed no one on here lol

If you attacked i.e. Cargo/Combat ships in Open doing usual stuff, PP etc. without AX weapons I would say anything goes. If someone didn't outfit his ship to be ready for PvP it's their fault.
But attacking guys with AX weapons and outfited for Thargoids is just low. It's not their fault they can't fight back in PvP. FD made those AX harmless against other players.

Nah, just call a spade a spade. Human interaction in the form of exploding space pixels is 12% more fun than AI ones, right?

Edit: should that be 120%?

Not sure about the exact numbers, for me it seems that interacting with proc generated robots is the same as talking to a chair.

Well I guess FDev are on your side on this. Even nerfed the AX SLF.
<shakes head>

Ooh! look challenging new AI....oh wait!....totally crappy load out.

FDev <snicker>

Me: But I'll be helpless in an anarchy

FDev <snicker>

Huh! Well I guess the fish are in the barrel for you.

I'm sure the next "upgrade" will be shields and armor against corrosive damage.
They will simply have no resistance to thermal, kinetic or explosive damage. Seems reasonable.

Well it will at least make your job easier.

I have no words to explain how much I disagree with you. During the Andronicus CG a guy did exactly that: followed my wake and attacked me and my wingmates. I managed to escape, remembering the name of the commander.
Went back to an station. Took my general combat python (I´m not a PVP after all, to call it "Pvp python" would be an overstatement), got it an FSD interdictor and went on the hunt. I eventually killed the f(word)er.

How do you not agree with me then? You swapped your AX ship with one that carries normal weapons to fight back. Obviously you were unable to fight back with your AX ship.
Or am I missing something?

I didn't take part in previous CGs in Pleiades.

Humans are also animals. Highly intelligent primates with 16 billion cortical neurons. No difference in using a gun to shoot a deer than a chimpanzee would poke a stick into a termite mound to eat them, just a degree in sophistication in tools used. One might say, by that logic, you're preventing the poaching of helpless animals by poaching helpless animals.

You say: "People don't play in Solo, so it is wrong to attack other people attacking the Thargoids".

I say: "It's just a game, for Braben's sake! Take your better ship and get your revenge, then have a laugh together!"

You are correct.

The main salt comes from the people who want revenge they just dont have the skills to archieve it.

I have been killed in my weaponless d rated travel aspx, did I get salty on the forums? No, I told him to wait for my FAS to arrive (thx for delayed ship transfers btw!). He was not there by the time I finished being immersed for an hour of waiting doing nothing.

I haven't been killed by random CMDR in Open since like forever, so your argument is invalid.
The only time I saw rebuy screen recently was during our PvP training, and that didn't make me salty either lol

I just don't understand some people taking pleasure in killing much weaker (in this case unarmed) opponent.
I bet you often go to Eravate and interdict/kill new people in Sidewinders and Haulers too.

I do keep an small personal black list of commanders, just waiting for the opportunity to arise. So, eventually, I´ll find that goddamned cmdr that killed my defenseless ship while flying my Python and send him a direct comm saying "REMEMBER ME, !?" and interdict.

I may be killed after that (hell, I´m not a dedicated PVP player), but the laughter is always present in those moments.

PvP is fun. I used to love it while I was still very much into Powerplay.
Fighting another CMDR is always exciting. But when I'm in my FDL or Clipper and I see another CMDR in something like Keelback or ASP Explorer I usually type 'o7' and let them be.

I've never had really bad experiences in Open in the past like you, guys. I seek no revenge :) But when you mentioned your experiences I kinda understand your motives.
