Yeah, I earned most of it doing cargo hauls. I switched to passengers when they first came out, but went back to cargo hauling when they finally fixed the mission pay and it became profitable again.

I just hit rank 4 in Exploration. (If Elite is rank 1).

And that was in just under 2 months.

Though it did seem to take quite a bit longer to go from 5 to 4, than it did to go from 6 to 5.

So... presumably these last few ranks take a good deal longer?

Interesting comment. From my own perspective, I got to Tycoon before realising that I didn't want to hit Trade Elite first, because then when I puled up at S-D to visit the Elite pilot's club, I'd have to park next to all the Anacondas smelling of biowaste and hang out at the bar with those guys! I went on a two-week long kill fest to make sure I could swagger up to the bar with Combat Elite wing on my remlock!

What I meant was, trade is probably the easiest to achieve, since there's no real way to shortcut combat or exploration.
