Modes Harry Potter and Zarek Null, plus a debate on Solo Play and the community.

Kill (proc generated number) bots - cz
Kill (proc generated number) bots in planet rings - bounty hunting
Go to A - B - C 100 times - trading

Go to (proc generated name) system and scan (proc generated name) planet base

Go to planet (proc generated name) and shoot 200 rocks for (proc generated name) material

Repeat everything and few of your bars move up (ranks and credits)

Yawn....

Would you describe yourself as being in the last gasp stage, or have you stopped playing already ?.

That's almost every game ever.

WOW - got kill 10 [creature] // go collect item by killing [creature] : Just change the name of the creatures every 10 levels. Forest wolf, to Woodlands Wolf, to Dire Wolf, to Demon Wolf......
GW2 - go kill things until gold mission heart full, find new heart and go kill things until heart is full
STO - go kill 5 ships (or 5 groups of ships) or go scan 5 things until max level.

All MMOs are repetitive simple actions. Over and over.
If they bore you so much, go find a single player story driven game.

Way ahead of you:)

Noob splatting is like station griefing, its done by a lot of bored multi billionaires in the last gasp of having ruined the game for themselves via exploiting away achievable progress. Itchy Nipples was that way from pre-release thanks to the scan/bounty exploit.
Well at least I have a few more years left at the rate Im progressing, not bothering with exploits.

Way ahead of you:)

You know the worst part is, Frontier have some great writers working for them - who are not writing stories for the game!
Seems like a waste of resources to me, having talented writers looking at code all day. Perhaps they should let those folks have Fridays as "story day" and not "stare at code until eyes bleed" day.

I play every day, but without the PVE content.
I cant even bother with collecting materials for synths.

EVE online, if only they had the ED flight model...

EVE online, if only they had the ED flight model...

Last time I played that the activities were;

Mining;

Cheap lasers: Empty hold every 60 seconds
Strip lasers: Empty hold every 180 seconds

If you're the hauler, you get to collect the ore and take it to the station, then come back and collect some more.

Seriously, mining in EVE is worse than mining in Elite by a long shot. I bough a Gameboy for something to do while my ship was mining.

Combat;

Target ship and press; F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F7, F8. Watch icons blink while your ship auto orbits the target.

Wait for explosion.

Target new ship, press F keys, watch icons, wait for explosion.

How was this more interesting again?

Every single game I've ever played can be broken down into half a dozen (at best) actions, that are repeated over and over.

I appreciate the sentiments, but I already quit over a month ago.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

:eek::(:mad:

My topic is unravelling fast...
I can feel the sand between my fingers...
Now my last chance would be an appearance of Harry Potter himself, to gank most players arguing against me (including Zarek Null), including by following them on solo and private servers...
How beautiful is the sun from here.....
I....

snipThis game can become fantastic, but the design is being impaired by this "people won't like it" nonsense.

What you are missing in this is the truly amazing idea behind the game...that all players have an impact on all other players through the PVP concept of out playing others regardless of their playstyle OR their platform they play on....everyone is an equal in the galaxy.

Currently, I know there are Xbox players and PC players fighting a BGS war against another group of players....you can't do this in any other game...

For those that 'get it' this game IS fantastic...and getting better over time...BUT to 'get it' you have to understand that the devs have defined PVP as outmaneuvering others for PVE trophies....not smashing others in the face. Of course, that gameplay is in there...and advertised as susch..but it cannot, nor will it ever, be something that will connect into the game in any meaningful manner...

In other words, competing who can grind the most and the quickest, its ok you can have all the bgs grind wars you want, I will wait till this game will reward skills rather than patience for repetition.

You will be waiting until they shut off the servers. As you can see, PVP players are not playing... because they finally see the game for what it is...a PVE tug of war...so you can keep tilting at this windmill....but the game will not change...

Games change, they are changing engineers, adding squadrons. We will see, as of today it is a PVE tag of war and the most skilled (pvpiers) have nothing to do but to kill each other and since this pointless endeavour becomes boring fast, the guns turn to mining lasers, salt mining that it.

but you can't remake an RPG like Diablo 3 into a FPS....similar problem here...there might be improvements to PVP..but it will never be what PVP players want out of the game.

Again, the genius of this design...makes PVP rare AND meaningful! Only the PVP players will fight against the PVP players for PVP...all the other players are going to avoid the senselessness of it all and play where they can enjoy themselves!

PVP players should really take this song to heart!

See you in solo, or maybe not.

Cheers, Phos.

Games change

Yes they do, but not on the fundamental level you are hoping for, tweaking engineers, and adding squadrons is like changing the curtains and buying a new coffee table for your home. What you want, ripping up/restricting access for the modes and full population unrestricted PVP for every player is more akin to knocking down that house and starting again from scratch, it ain't gonna happen.
