General / Off-Topic Stranger Things

I imagine many people here love Stranger Things. If you haven't watched it yet get Netflix and treat yourself! If you are 35 to 45 it is an almost dead cert you'll love it. [yesnod]

Anyway this little gem came up in my YouTube recommendations. It's dubbed over and from season one so there are no real spoilers...

enjoy :D

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
Lol! Those Bad Lip Reading vids are always funny. :)

And yeah - Stranger Things is awesome! Definitely recommended. I fall right in the middle of that age range, so it's no wonder I like it. heh.

I got into season one, but season two really was awesome.

PSA: If you're of the age that you find Stranger Things' setting nostalgic, check out The Goldbergs - my wife and I never miss an episode

You might need to expand that age range a bit.... I'm 51 and loved it ;-D

In 1983, when the show is set, I was 15-16, so it definitely brings back the feels!

Yes, great show!

Completely agree, although (warning: controversial opinion ahead) I hope they have less of Eleven for series three. She's a bit too deux ex machina.

I just finished Episode 6 of Season 2 last Friday, so I don't know how it all plays out yet. I have really been enjoying it so far.

I see that lokvette brought up Dark, and that's next on my list to watch as soon as we wrap up Stranger Things. Personally I prefer "foreign" films with subtitles over the typical Hollywood fare, and that's one of the things I find so interesting about ST; Hollywood produced something this good?

Ok, I just finished season 2. It had a different sort of plot, kind of a slow burn compared to the first one. A lot more exposition to the setup, but overall it stayed true to it's roots. The Duffer Brothers directed the last 2 episodes, and I think the slow setup of the story helped them deliver an ending that nearly qualified as "epic." I loved it. Too bad there isn't more creativity like this in Hollywood.

I love Stranger Things!

Right up my alley, as I was born in the 80s, and it sorta reminds me of my childhood. Lol
Atleast the movies I watched as a child anyway.

I was looking over some old photos with my parents the other day, and one of my best friends growing up looked almost exactly like Eleven. :D
Clothes and all!

Brilliant.

I absolutely love Stranger Things. Favorite overall character is Chief Hopper. Favorite Season 1 character is Eleven. Favorite Season 2 character is Steve Harrington.

By the way ... if you liked Millie Bobbie Brown in Stranger Things you owe it to yourself to watch the BBC America drama Intruders. It's unbelievable how well she could pull out that much creepiness and malevolence at 9 years old.

On the other hand it's a dry remake of 80's formulaic films such s ET.
