Would love to hear David Braben interviewed about road from Frontier: First Encounters tech through Elite IV tech (I saw the screenshots back in the day) which lead to Elite Dangerous finally.
What was big news then? What was challanges that had to be overcome? What was the history and why Elite IV never came out? What was achieved in making Elite IV - was there playable prototype? What was engine changes during that time?

I was just looking for the appropriate place to post this. MERRY XMAS to all of the Fdev team and Thankyou for delivering a great game with more goodies to come next year.

I hope everyone at Fdev and the community has a SAFE and wonderful Xmas and prosperous new year.
PS, the CHIEFTAIN would make a wonderful xmas suprise,,,nudge nudge,,wink wink.

Just wanted to throw in my 10cents on this as well - Have a good one folks whatever that may be and fill ya boots (or stockings - it's 2017 so anything goes now :p )

As for no gift this Xmas in your stocking - why not visit the Frontier store and Chromiside your ship with the shiny and essex based paint jobs (next thing you know it'll be Chelsea Blue)

As for Discovery Scanner topics, could we get one from the VR guys?
It's be very interesting to hear about the challenges VR presents compared to flatR Elite; has VR effected the design of things (eg HUD and menus); and the future of VR (including PSVR).

He still works for Frontier, but works on Planet Coaster and has since before it was released. He and another member of the team did an audio stream for Planet Coaster which was brilliant.

But yes definitely an audio stream too, bring on Ross and Joe. Especially after the behind the scenes reveal on how the Thargoid encounters were done :p

Despite what people say, thank you for this year of content, bug fixes, balance changes, quality of life additions, and more. No matter how well or poorly they're received they're s sign of your continued commitment and support for this game and you should know there are many of us who appreciate it.

Here's to ED in 2018 being even better.
