i did something that was quite exciting today.
after a Steam client update a few months ago, many of my games suddenly stopped working - they'd just crash immediately on launch. all of them were using the Unity Engine, apart from Prey.
finally tracked it down to RivaTuner, the companion utility to MSI Afterburner (set its game detection level to 'none' - you'll lose the on-screen display but the game will work again) and also running the game directly from its .exe instead of the normal 'rungameid' Steam shortcut.

yep, "all of them were using the Unity Engine, apart from Prey." - for a long time i was blaming Unity Engine as the cause until i discovered that Prey wouldn't work eitherPrey is CryEngine
I think it was something with colliding Steam and MSI overlays, rather than a specific engines.

Graphics are good though. So good you can literally smell how terrible it is.
RL is like that. Amazing graphics and sound design, but clunky interface, no manual, pay-to-win, nobody can do anything about the trolls or griefers, the grind is terrible, lots of arguing and screaming about it on the internet, and the end-game is meh.
I would at least appreciate some kind of checkpoint or quicksave functionality. Sometimes I want to try some risky stuff, but this ironman thing the R/L has going is annoying.
