Not gonna help Aegis anymore

I have finally decided that Aegis can't be trusted with their actions. That's why I will help rescue civilians, I won't help restore stations. Also obviously I won't annoy Thargoids.

It is quite obvious we are being used in larger scheme of things. Maybe people just looking for profit are ok, but I am not.

Yes. Much as I want to see how the station repair plays out I don't know why we would go out of our way to repair these stations for aegis. And the profits are rubbish :)

watch this, is interesting, only published a couple of hours ago, it explains everything you suspect about Aegis aka INRA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cy9WLi11598

Agreed. Though I won't blame all those who still want some good old pew pew fun with the Thargoids and I'm pretty sure they won't mind either. ;) At last I wouldn't expect them being even remotely humanlike and thus looking for revenge. Also, they're apparently able to distinguish.

I'm already for quite some time under the impression that they're looking for something very specific, which is more obvious if you approach them with a little respect (as in 'no macho attitudes') and keeping due distance. So far no one was able to deliver a hard disprove of these observations, there's also not a single ingame footage where Thargoids start to attack NPCs or stations.. all made up by players who simply expect and want this form of drama.

5.

I have a theory that we are slipping into proxy war waged by some other intelligent beings (not humans) who uses our power structures (similar to Hydra) to destroy Thargoids. Thargoids are aware, that's why their approach to us is hands off mostly.

Because there's something more than a fear behind all this. Something way more sinister, calculative and I feel we are running out of time to understand it completely.

Outside game note: people think FD just do poor story telling. When in fact they just allow us to make choices and we are hardly surprising anyone by falling in same traps and rails.

Yeah, this finally convinced me that Aegis is not what it says it is. Way it just popped up, and raised credits just for getting so much done in short time - someone was prepared for it. Someone did their moves long time ago and waited for right moment.

Humans are flawed. Even in fear from total destruction I just don't see how Aegis came to be in so short period of time.

Aegis = INRA

set up by federation and empire to defeat thargs, in the 1st war, according to lore, but may have gone dark and gone rogue

No, I think if humanity comes across something we don't understand, we kill it. We started the 1st Tharg war, and developed the mycoid virus to destry them. It hasn't worked. If the Thargs wanted to destroy those stations they could have, they didn't. Most of us have ben pulled out of witch space by them, scanned and then they went away, only attacked if we get too close, or are carrying thard tech/bio etc, we could be the bad guys here

I've decided that my plan of action from here on out in regards to Aegis is to blockade their starports, attack their ships, refuse to listen to their rhetoric about how the thargoids are a threat.
Don't give in to the obvious manipulation CMDRS, turn your guns away from the Thargoids and onto AEGIS.

Did you watch the last seconds of this video, there's a page from the novel THE DARK WHEEL. I'm a bit unsure here as my English isn't quite up to par, but if I got this part right and the novel is actually part of the narrative (can someone confirm this?), then a very shady, corrupt and evil person seems to play a key role in this game. My personal pinch of tin-foil would be that the Thargoids are looking out for exactly this man, who also seems to have a connection to the Oresrians and at whom we also should throw a sharp eye on. If we only could communicate with the Thargoids...

The Dark Wheel was the story that came with the original game in 1984, it was only a short story and the thaargoids were mentioned in that . It's online you can read the Dark Wheel for free, except the page on the video was not from the Dark Wheel. I will order the book in the video after Christmas

I agree with the OP.

Save civvies.

Don't help rebuild Aegis facilities - its even ok to try to hamper those efforts I believe.

Protect the aliens from unwarranted aggression. And vice versa if it occurs.

Xeno Alliance.

So the Guardians aren't really all dead?

Perhaps one of them is in an Emperor Palpatine styled role? :O
