Viper or Cobra?

I just love the Viper. It's an excellent combat ship. It's so fast and maneuverable you simply dominate any combat situation. You only ever have to engage on your terms.
This also makes it a decent high risk trader or salvage smuggler. 8 tons of cargo won't net you big profits, but at least there isn't a ship out there that can take it from you

2 x C2 Rails, yes. 2 x C4 rails are going to need careful management.

Well, all I can say is that a Viper with 2C4 and 2C2 cannot jump from Bootis to Eranin. 2C4 and 1C2 makes this jump possible.

Any time you change the setup of your ship (including the amount of fuel you have), the navigation panel will lie about what you can jump to. The only way (so far) I've found to get it to tell the truth is to quit to main menu and rejoin open play.

The Viper can jump about 5.5 LY with 4xC2 and a full cargo hold, so I think Aleksej might be suffering from the above problem.

I tried the Viper, it's really crazy maneuverable, I van sede it being a lost of fun in dogfights. However I ended trading it in for a Cobra because there's simply isn't enough combat contest yet. Also I must admit that while the Viper has superior handling, there's something satisfactory to the Cobra's chunkyness, and the difference is not so dramatic that a fight between the two would be always Mone sided - it takes skill to tale advantage of the Viper maneuverability anyway

I prefer the Cobra Mk III over the Viper. It's tougher, has a better jump range and I never get tired of looking over at the other seat.

I've got my eye on Asp and Fer-de-Lance for the final release.

I've owned both, currently I swapped my Viper (A-spec'ed) for an Cobra (A-spec'ed) to test it out and want my viper back!! The viper rocked! In combat the viper wipe the cobra off the floor if i see a wanted cobra I just nail it barely take 1% damage, go the viper if your into pure combat.
