Need an Honest Opinion.

Greetings All,

I need some honest opinions about this game. I'm on the edge of buying it.
Need the Pros and the cons of Buying the game.
Is there any Aussie players? Whats the connection like?
Is it Justified for $95 AUD.

Please I would appreciate real answers to put my doubts are ease.

I'm an Australian (Melbourne) and i have a hardcore MMO Background and espicially love games like Ultima Online, EVE and I like WOW. (IF that helps you see where i am coming from). As an Australian, i had good ping and it was very playable - there are no ping issues and if there was some sort of problem it would be problem on their end not ours.

PROS)

Graphics are amazing - it looks great
Sound is amazing - feels powerful
Flight controls are very fun - very easy with Hotas coming from a flight sim background
Combat is fun but very unbalanced, sort of fun shooting the bots even

CONS)

Multiplayer server is affected by people playing in solo/private (essentially invulnerable/invisible players affect your world)
No corporations / Alliances - it's more about YOU not a group.
Peer 2 Peer so multiplayer you hardly see anyone (And will get worse when they make more systems)
Combat is essentially worthless for $$ and trading is 75% of the time alt-tabbed
No player run economy (Everything is made and sold by NPCS) - hence you can use an online calculator to tell you exactly what you need to do to be the best trader (In this patch EVERYONE is a trader and using the same calculator)

Overall, it really depends if you are more of a social person or someone who only cares to play by themselves and how much PVP means to you.

I have put in a ton of time into this game already just trying to see what the ships feel like. But the cons are very real, they are not "bugs" they are gameplay "design" choices/issues

No worries, I remember before I joined I ran around asking tons of people information even about how laggy it would be. I don't regret my decision but back than there was much less information then there is now (pre beta) and a lot of future-proofing design issues that haven't really been addressed or just not cared for (multiplayer ecosystem is #1)

Welcome to the forum Phantom_Renegade. I'm sure you'll have a blast with the game.

There are quite a few of these "I'm on the verge of buying, should I?" threads. It is great to see so many people responding to them.

But could you please make it clear that the game is currently a work-in-progress and that any money accumulated and any progress made will be wiped when the full version of the game is released. I've seen people complain about losing hours of progress. I don't know how they're going to take it when they lose weeks.

Indeed this is what I was also worried about. It is very nice to be answered with helpful words. These words have helped me make a decision.
