Ships Love the T10 BUT..

Not necessarily true, you just have to be a bit imaginative in how you kit out the T10D.

It is quite feasible to kit out the T10D for general PvE combat BUT you will almost certainly find that you will have to use different weapons and tactics than you would for an Anaconda.

Personally, I find the Anaconda somewhat lacking for PvE combat due to weapon convergence and firing arc issues BUT the Corvette on the other hand is far superior than the Anaconda for PvE combat IMO. I know some swear by the Anaconda and say the Corvette is comparatively useless, or even swear by the Cutter claiming the other two are useless. I have not flown the T10D much but from my initial test flights I can tell that it can be deadly in the right hands with the right load-out of weapons and other kit.

While the Class 6 Power Distributor may seem to be a limiting factor I do not think it is as problematic as some of the spreadsheet warriors in these forums like to make out.

Any reasonable ship in the right hands with the right load out and kit is going to be a deadly machine. But for us lesser mortals, combat that involves other humans or human NPC's is likely to turn out badly. Now for the Aces out there, go for it. You can turn that thing into a pocket destroyer.

Only a C6? Why not go with an A6? That'll provide more energy.

I think this might be a confusion in terminology. I think C6 means 'class 6' (referring to the size), not C-rated (referring to quality/characteristics). In game, the modules are called "6A", "6C", etc.

I think compared to early versions of E:D FDev may have at some point switched the order of the designations in-game, eg. A6 => 6A.

Running a 7A prismatic, a class 8 bank, and a pile of armor, the T10 actually has some pretty solid stats when compared to a PVP spec Anaconda.

I'm very impressed with it, and I believe a size 7 distributor could make it a PVP contender, but I don't believe that's what Fdev had in mind.

I doubt it will change, and I'm fine with that.

No, FDev meant it to be a response to the Thargoids. So you're right. It most likely won't get a 7 distributor.

somehow i don't like the idea of a niche ship, especially if it cost like 500 mio to outfit it and the time it takes to engineer it
Firstly, it need not cost 500 million to outfit... and secondly, engineering it does not take that long in reality.

Type-10 100 mio
Powerplant 8A 100 mio
Military armor 100 mio
FSD 50 mio
Thrusters 50 mio

Ok it just cost 400 - 450 mio to outfit it
only for thargoid killing

The point was there is no need to fully A-Spec it... the same can be said of at least some other ships too.

Mostly C-Spec should more than suffice (which weighs in at a much lower cost).

I’d love to see some vids of it in action posted here instead of two posters vehemently defending its right to be mediocre. Just sayin.

Obsidian Ant's initial overview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=br3LqIpTOvA.

There are other videos including at least one PvP combat test video.

FTR If the mediocre comment is relating to my C-Spec comment then I should point out that neither the Anaconda nor the Corvette need to be fully A-Spec'ed either - The Cutter may be another matter though.

Yeah no, I mean you guys are defending it (I haven’t come to any conclusions so continue to read) but I’d rather see some evidence to back up points of view. TY for the vid. I have seen that one and thought it was quite good. I enjoy OAs work. Need to see more or hear more on the field testimonies. On that note, OA did find it quite hard to take advantage of its unique qualities. The armour held up but boy was that punishing. As he points out, much of what he went through would have been a breaze in a Conda.

If you fight Thargoids is probably A rated or bust and in a Hazrez/CZ i would also rather want a A rated ship

From my own experience with the T10D in normal Human PvE circumstances I would say that a 6C Bi-Weave would be only just good enough for a trader build - that is planning to low or high wake at the first opportunity. IMO If you expect to get into combat you will really need class 8 shields in order to hit the 1000MJ sweet spot, you may get away with class 7 but I think that slot is better used for either an SLF hangar or cargo space.

Ship specs beyond a point become overkill - there is no legitimate need to A rate the power supply in all cases for example.

A-spec kit significantly increases the cost of builds, for lower end ships this is not such a problem but for the higher end ships it starts to become a questionable cost-performance balance issue. Especially when you can engineer a C class to perform at least as well as an A class (albeit with some trade offs). Sometimes less is more (especially if there is a non-insignificant chance of seeing the rebuy screen).

1000 MJ? On the T10? So, is that 8a or size 8 prismatics and a row of a grade boosters? Ooh, just been playing with Coriolis. Some interesting layouts can be managed. Big biweaves would probably tax the distro way beyond its recharge rate. But now I’m theory crafting. Would love to have some owners chime in.
Edit: I found this pretty enjoyable to watch... Distro really clearly struggles with biweaves!

well my Conda and Corvette needs Overcharged Size 8A powerplant and it still not enough power, the only ships that don't need A rating are trading ships and explorer ships,

ok let's assume that the Type-10 don't need a A rated powerplant, but the rest is necessary for thargoid hunting

I stripped parts from my Corvette to the T10, and ended up with 2800mj in base shields with decent resistances. The class 8 SCB adds even more shielding. Armor wise, I'm around 6,000.

Edit to add: I think Biweaves on big ships are silly. Regen rate means nothing if you are under constant fire, so all you're doing is wasting some available shielding.

If you're just PVE bounty hunting, I recommend the reboot/repair trick to bump your shields back up to 50% between engagements.

Got vids of it in action? I’d love to see!

I don't think R&R works like that, any more. It certainly doesn't for me.
