Full body VR enhancement anybody?

It would certainly be cool.
But like with every game accessory, you need something to actually do with it. And seeing how slowly the VR itself is catching up (let's not kid ourselves, after years there is still just a handful of games worthy of that title) I don't see this being particularly useful.
Maybe in ten years, if this whole VR thing won't die out, we have something to look forward to.

Cool idea, but completely impractical for me. I usually only have an hour or two to play; I'm not going to waste that time getting into and out of a form-fitting suit. Plus it gets pretty hot here in the summer. I normally wear shorts and a T-shirt about half the year. I don't want to crank the air-conditioning, just to wear a full-coverage suit.

It does say it has it's own cooling/heating system, but I can't help thinking it would have it's work cut out with ED. Imagine the heat build up as you do Silent Running, then the big freeze when yo deploy a heat sink.

Man, your nipples wouldn't know if they were coming or going.

Still, possibly the future, and a good reason to lose some weight.

It's not like a real spacesuit with full body heating/cooling. It has 4-10 temperature "points" which probably use Peltier units and/or resistive heating. Sounds more like a gimmick than something you can use to cool your body down.

pretty sure that when this thing gets remotely close to reality, the sxytime industry will be all over it. that would bring more demand, bringing more, better, and cheaper gear as it gets merged into mainstream and then back to benefits for spacegaming. piers Anthony's book Kill-o-byte might be inspirational reading for that sort of thing, if dated now.

This is never going to be used by anyone really.

Oh look I want to play a game, let me change out of my clothes, strap this thing coated in three weeks of gaming sweat...

Of course it's still in very early stages, but I don't believe for a second it means it will disappear - unless they simply find more realistic tech.

As a VR user, it kinda scares me sometimes. I'm now the dude sat in a room in another reality with wires poking out mah head. And it gets more developed/realistic by the month.

You have no idea how much people are willing to go through. Honestly it wouldn't add that much to my ritual.

Plugging in the basestations, taking out the headset and controllers, straightening up the cable mess, launching Steam, changing into lighter attire (or clothes I don't mind getting sweaty), pushing away seats and random debris from my playspace, recalibrating the chaperone if I need to, strapping on the protective kneepads if the game involves a lot of kneeling...

VR is worth it.

I wouldn't see much use for it in ED unless you're just going diehard and have something like a 3 axis rig to go with it, but with the right games that would benefit from full immersion, I could see it being a nice addition. Couple it with the Kat Walk VR (http://www.katvr.com/en/product.html) and you would have the closest thing (at least in the foreseeable future) to the full dive experience teased in movies.

It's an appropriate idea for VR, but in practice? I donno. If it can interpret hit-bot locations and 'bzzz' at the approximate location of where I got shot, in Onward, it would be interesting but it wouldn't add anything to the game experience for me. I feel that submerging yourself into VR properly, requires a little intentional disconnection from the meat-space we occupy. Being overly aware of my physical presence would take me away from the digital one. I'm sure the Japnese Hentai Virtual 'Girlfriend' type markets would snap it up tho

I doubt very much I would buy one but I'd be willing to try it out on a few games.

It just amazes me how far gaming has come, never would have thought I'd be playing games in VR 30/40 years ago.

True, but the cost of VR including PC, HOTAS etc. is worth it just to play Elite IMO.
