Easiest way to find a Thargoid Cyclop?

Hello.

I what to go into Tahrgoid combat and need to find a Cyclop.

In the FAQ there is: "Where can I find Thargoids? Non-Human Signal Sources (NHSS) in area around Merope (not Merope itself). There seem to be many.". Is this the way to find a Thargoid ship to fight with. Are there some advanced tatics like flying with a special speed or distance to whatever? Is ther a special system where I can search?

Try the systems where there are damaged stations after thargoid attacks, usually quite a lot of non human signal sources in there if you just fly about in supercruise.

Threat level 5 is the Cyclops, 6 is the basilisk and 7 is the new medusa

Got Maia and fly around the nearby systems, Merope, HR 1185, HR 1183. Not very difficult to find.

They may find you and interdict you out of hyperspace.

You can always use the map to find systems with threat 5, the ones near merope will spawn more often https://map.canonn.technology/thargoids/. I wouldn't try merope or Maia myself

Asterope is a relatively safe bet, although there are many NHSS 6 spawns too. 1 jump from Merope. As Aegis is still under lockdown, you'll have to park your ship somewhere else for outfitting anyway. My fleet is at Alcazar's Hope currently.

You want to head to the Pleiades Nebula and search around systems nearby

You’ll find plenty of “Non Human Signal Sources”

Right now, there are 3 threat levels of NHSS, you’ll want to search for a Threat 5

Threat 5 is the Cyclops variant
Threat 6 is the Basilisk, tougher than the Cyclops
Threat 7 is the Medusa. There tough as nails, you won’t last long in one of those

What if all i find are threat 6 ? Is there any patter to what type of Thargoid will spawn i each system?

Pray for RNGesus, and cruise more. It is all rng. If I go for threat 5 sure I find 6 and 7 8/10. If I wanna find 7 sure the first x NHSS is threat 5 or 6. Once happened I needed to relog, because not a single NHSS spawned for few minutes in the same system where normally NHSS spawn in every corner of the space.

That's what happened to me as well. Might just have been unfavorable rolls, but I found thread 5 signal sources in the Electra system pretty fast.
