Make me a Skyrim character to play.

I have a love/hate relationship with Daggerfall.

On the one hand it has phenomenal music and location variety and freedom...
On the other, it has terribad dungeons and game-breaking bugs. :D

Which is why I'm keeping tabs on this little project: http://www.dfworkshop.net/

Once the constant threat of the void is gone and having a few dedicated modders, Daggerfall still can't let me go :) As for the music, I just leave this here:

well damn it all, i reinstalled and made a new character. A Breton Male - ultimately going to be sneaky stabby archery type with a touch of magic to complement things.

Have installed a load of mods but i need the dawnguard and Dragonborn expansions to install a few that id really like. SKY-UI mod is amazing though, dont know why Bethesda dont include things like that as damned standard.

SKY-UI has never worked on my PC, not in the original Skyrim and not in SE. If I try to use it, my entire character set turns into wingdings til I reboot. This has been on 3 different machines and OS versions too... Many of my friends however, won't play without it.

Bah, I think I installed too many mods.

Skyrim won't launch. Lol

I wonder, if it ever works, if my GTX 770 can run it at 4k resolution...? :D
With the ENB off, of course. Lol

What does sky-ui do ?, more specifically does it fix the broken mouse interface in menu's. It's pushing me towards an uninstall (again).

EDIT : I just watched the trailer for the mod, so I know what it does.

But does anyone know if the mouse is still laggy imprecise and unreliable ?, cos that's a gamebreaker for me.

It makes menus very much PC friendly rather than the vanilla menus which were designed for the console lot.

It's up to version 5 now and adds layers of interaction and filtering that make using it a pure pleasure. I don't have any difficulty using a mouse in any of the menus so i guess it does fix what you are talking about.

There's still some glitchyness using mouse to select conversation options but I've seen a mod that fixes that also. I just use the wasd controls myself to choose conversation choices in any case.

SkyUI is a perfect example of why Bethesda annoy me with this franchise. It's been around through Oblivion etc but still Bethesda release awful UI designs and worse still those designs get used in other games. It's almost as if they do it on purpose knowing that the mod community will fix it eventually.

Install Loot and let it take care of your mods load order, and warn you if one of them is going to crash on startup because of missing dependencies.

Just installed it, and yes it does seem to fix the broken mouse. I'll go enchant a load of things an see if it can cope.

It was the terrible UI that stopped me buying any of the expansions.

The Skyrim expansions are probably the best of all Bethesda games, both Dawnguard and Dragonborn are very good.

Glad to help. Hope your enchanting experience is improved :)

LOOT and TesEdit report no major errors, so I think the ENB injector is borked. Lol

I'll disable that and try it later.

Then I can start my quest to become a stealth archer sword wielding mage.... Again.

Then probably stop playing. Lol
(I've only finished the main quest once.... I get bored too quickly. Lol)
