Play the game more. There’s a lot to spend money on. Some of which comes from messing up...rebuys
I mean come on.....I have played the game for over 682 hours (which for some in this game isn't much)...but to me it is. I have done pretty much a little or a lot of everything. Looking for a new area to explore. I will get Elite in exploration here shortly and then combat. Maybe I need to try out the CG's....I love this game, but I hit a wall from time to time.
I did fail to mention that I have a total of 3 accounts already. Kind of wanna use my main account. I mean....what's the point of doing all that work if I don't use the stuff I earned?
kill the aliens!
That is an idea....and an area I have yet to explore. I need to research how best to do that now. Good suggestion!

This account has only about 800 hours logged...but Ive played over two accounts on ironman and Ive wiped my save 5 times...rough guess Ive sunk 3k hours, I dunno I lost count and stopped caring after a time. I have lots of time to sit and play games, mother nature saw to that, so I tend not to stress out over it too much.
Ive been in the black fer easily two thirds of that time exploring and while I am bubble bound now, its merely to outfit a T10 fer the next expedition. Im cautiously optomistic that frontier will have changed something quite profound fer exploration by the time Im ready to enjoy it. Thing is, many love the idea of trying to explore because the screenshots alone...inspiring stuff yes? However, its also one of the grindiest if ye count distance as what an explorer has to grind...many try and many fail...takes a certain mindset.
My point? Yer still reading? Dont underestimate explortion as a game within a game because I know of many others on many other platforms who have grown to become obsessed with it, meself included. I see the rest of the game...the game you say you already played...as merely something one has to tolerate to get anywhere in this game.
As to the ironman routine...thats role play...yer either committed or yer not there are no comebacks once the account is wiped. Could you wipe out a triple elite? Thats something ye need to think long and hard about cos if nothing else, the shopping is easier when ye have a few quid and have the rank to get into the shopping mall...that and I never really could come to terms with telepresence but I love SLF so...erm...I like this save cos a T10 aint cheap...unlike my sister.
Still here? On a game ye clearly want to inspire ye with something otherwise ye wouldnt be here at all? So the point being that that game you been playing...thats not 'thee' game...just a little part of a much bigger game. 400billion stars and over a trillion planets bigger ^

Very good points being made here. I love space....It ultimately is the final frontier....correct? So exploration is obviously the real deal with this game. I do want to fit a type-10, but not sure what the best way is or the best way to use it is. Is it good for exploration? My AspX is pretty great in that area already (and I love the view from the cockpit)...which they type-10 has a similar view...but, what can it do that my AspX already can't for exploring? Just looking for pure knowledge here...not any arguments.
I have over 4,000 hours in this game. It's not about what ships you have. It's about what you do with them. Create your own story. For me it's Taco Corp. I play ED everyday because I have a PMF that I work on. When we are in Boom it gives me a reason to trade and explore, when we are in War it gives me a reason for combat. I do everything in the game (besides mining, screw that) because it benefits Taco.
So my best advice would be to find a player group with a PMF that you like and get to work.

I honestly dont know, thats why Im heading back to colonia now, then back to the bubble. Im in a T9 atm, fairly short range sub 20ly so it takes time to get anywhere...onwards and upwards and all that.
The aspx is a good ship, one the best dedicated exploration ships in the game, although my personal favourite fer range and versatility is a DBE...Ill switch to that at colonia before using the neutron highway back to the bubble.
Ill start playing the game everyone keeps moaning about fer a few months, but the only motivation fer being there is to build the best exploration build I can. I dont use external game resources like EDDB or inara or whatever they called, Im fairly old school and do things my way by making my own mistakes.
Theres no trick to exploration other than patience...builds can be as simplistic as D rating everything except the FSD and the powerplant, no guns no point and furthest out from the bubble Ive seen NPC spawns was about 8klys out...not including colonia...could be different thats just me own experience.
But I like Slf and the keelback is just too small and only has 6 fighters which makes it short range and short term. Nice ship in its own right just too small. But ye if ye like the aspex then certainly, one the best all rounders that just happens to also be one the best dedicated exploration ships in the game.
But my ship is my home, fer many months at a time...it has to have a certain character and one must become proficient in its use without engineering upgrades. Its harder to justify the time spent in gaining the upgrades if ye dont know what yer upgrading from which would ideally be a fully A rated build. Of course the fsd gets upgraded as do the scanners and heat sinks, sheilds, thrusters and powerplant. The name is important...it has to mean something to give ye a deeper connection to it.
Ironically enough the t9 is called Wax Lyrical ^
According to achievements ppl don’t do enough of:
-Power Play
-Thargoid hunting(figure out how to ally with some species)
-Kill hostile Thargoids
-CQC achieves

Player Minor Faction. It's a player group "created/inspired" NPC faction. By successfully working the Background Simulation (BGS) a player group can get their PMF to take control of of stations and systems.
