Looking for guilds/factions, learning the game

Hello!

I am looking for group of people to play together with. Currently I'm playing alone and it's confusing as hell!
Pretty much i have no idea what to do, i tried to do some missions, delivering stuff, seemed fun and easy but the combat missions are much more difficult. Is there anything like resource gathering stuff for example mining or scavenging?
Trying to learn more about the game, could someone recommend to me some videos to watch for learning?
What was also confusing was that, all the time on my road some guy "teleports/jumps" me away and starts scanning, every time they scan and scan... Whats up with that, gets annoying... As just flying around and then suddenly again, your ship stops and changes location and some guys starts scanning, scan scan.... :(

Friendly advice to not make a common beginner's mistake:
There are no player-based guilds or factions, the game intentionally doesn't support them. Frankly, the idea of PVP is a big taboo for large parts of the community. If you kill other players you will soon find yourself on ignore lists which blacklist you from other client's instances. Hence, you will never play with them ever online.

So for your own good play the game like a Euro Truck Sim in space to not attract the wrath of the casual space trucker majority.

Sorry, there are no guilds. There are Factions though. Federation, Alliance, and Independent. (NPC)

After all it is One Pilot, One ship, 100 credits (or 1000 at the moment)

Do the solo scenarios and you will get the basics. Then you start training. Not your character, not your avatar, not a toon, YOU.

This is Elite. There is no easy button to press. Well, that is not entirely true. There is... It's called ESC.

I do like hipsters (they are legion at my fav indie coffee house in houston:)
but no, just not interested..but goats r pretty cray, feel me?! LOL :eek:

maybe a game where u run over goats in trucks...i may b onto somthin ;)
