Beyond 3.0 - C&P and Wing missions

C&P - I am very convinced this will solve some of issues with consequences in game. Not all of them, not at once, but it is quite a good start. New addition of notoriety will address some of combat logging. Overall feeling very good about this. Very important to balance friendly fire though.

Wing missions - loving direction, because I hate 'special' wing content, but interface for mass delivery and potentially god like NPCs (similar to Thargoids) for Assassination wing missions sounds very nice direction. If mechanic works, it can be extended to lot of directions.

I also like 'Anonymous access' icon shown on nav panel.

Wing Missions...would have preferred a way to include all players in Wings, before adding more content for Wings (e.g. Hireable NPC's) but I do like the idea of the additional content.

If you don't allow yourself to be killed via combat logging your rebuy cost just increases. This means when you finally will die, you will face a huge rebuy.
 
Loved the fact that you can now do missions in parts, and choose from 3 different rewards.

Also loved that wing missions aren't "wing only" missions, as that wouldn't make sense.

Did you say "Notoriety"?!?! Please tell me this means they listened to us about Pilots still partly carrying around the burden of their crimes......beyond their hot ships!

Imagine a smash and grab on a convoy, you have a cargo tug waiting while the guns eliminate the guards- something that requires the use of comms a bit more. You signal your wingmates and hope they don't doublecross you.

Not exactly. I think it still applies to the ship, but it becomes more notorious - thus insurance cost raises considerably. Bigger total bounty, bigger insurance cost.

It seems long term effects it is something in a bag of Karma system.

You signal your wingmates and hope they don't doublecross you.

I think what Adam pretty much said that these are missions which they start with - if framework works out in 3.0, they will be adding a lot more. I suspect it still will be pretty much self governing - commanders will organize assault themselves. Game will make sure skill scale is up there.

I understood it that the commander has the notoriety.

I get where Adam is coming from but we have been here before with missions, and it seems a bit of a wasted opportunity not to aim high to start with. I'd love it if we had the most complex missions possible in beta and worked backwards to get missions that were ambitious but working.

Software development just doesn't work that way :) Also we don't know what they have prototyped internally.
 
The wing missions look interesting from a single player's perspective, will be trying them out in beta.

Thats very true, and its easy for me to say stuff from my comfy armchair dev room. But if missions are to become more dynamic, they have to actually be dynamic. All the missions I've ever taken on have been very similar with similar outcomes despite being branching. I've never had a surprise in them, ever.

I'd be very interested in a mission deep dive.

I'm hoping that more random hazards are given out too. I'd love it if wingmates have to rescue each other from pickles.
 
So on the livestream the mission they showed they had three possible rewards they could choose from.

1. Money, and a bit of rep and inf (the normal stuff)
2. Less money but more rep/inf (great stuff for rank progression)
3. Less money and an additional commodity reward.

I don't want "special" separate content for wings. I want to be able to share ALL the regular content with my wing. This is going about it backwards. Every existing mission should be sharable and completable by a wing. I'm so sick of this. Every new feature is boxed off from every other part of the game so that nothing can touch anything else.

edit: and my favorite quote from the stream:
“This is the first set of wing missions. If they work and they work well and people like them, then there’s an argument for doing more.”

So it's PowerPlay, CQC, and Multicrew, again.

Also liked the wing missions.
If I understood it correctly, it could also be completely run by one player only so it becomes like a personal mini cg.

The new C&P is better than what we have now. Just hope, in the end, there will also be things/mechanics to play with for pirates.
Not sure if they mentioned anything about that.. was a bit multitasking here so might have missed it.

Anyway, can't wait for thursday's stream. Hope they show off some nice new planetary vistas.
