I'd not thought about that. I'm of the belief that assets come with pros and cons, rightly so. Is there any evidence that they are currently plugged into the BGS influence system? I guess if they are they could be moved to a location where the only effect was to drive Unrest and lockdown state buckets.
Yeah - that would deal with it, though having them plugged in would put a new level of complexity to the fun strategy game that playing the BGS game is!

Hi,
Thanks for the questions i can answer.
2- Is this new stuff only for megaships with no landing pads, or also for dockable ones? - Just the non dockable megaships for chapter 1.
3- Will these actions negatively affect the faction that controls the megaship (by reducing influence or triggerig a lockdown for instance)? Crimes will affect the faction and the BGS.
4- Will we have missions to pirate megaships? (for instance, "Steal 10 tons of gold from mining vessel Vulcano"). These kinds of missions will be coming in a later beyond update.
Thanks
Steve K
Schlack;6313747 There does seem to be a BGS imbalance. The megaships and installations are only liabilities without any BGS benefit. I suppose if you own things you have to look after them! [/QUOTE said:They certainly are not the holy-hand-grenade of BGS Assaulting that some people think, especially as it would normally be quicker to HW out to a nearby system than SC in-system back to your Megaship. As a liability, I dont think they are any worse than a base or an outpost with a BM.
Player Megaships could have their uses:
1) Decent place to store modules in enemy territory without paying to move them about
2) They have an Economy Type, make use of it. e.g. Gnosis is Hi-Tech, park it next to an Agri station and BOOM Trade. Gnosis also has some dodgy illegal commodities, maybe smuggle them a few ls (not sure if in-system smuggling works)
e.g.
1. Fly your Megaship to an empty system close to Maia.
2. As the only Faction, you are on 100% so go into Expansion
3. Expand into Maia and take a base
4. You now are on the front line of Thargoids
(Exactly the same thing could apply to invade any system anywhere)
Edit : When Canonn was given the Gnosis, we mused reasonably publicly of all the screwy BGS things we might be able to do. Surprise Surprise, the Gnosis (as a proper Canonn owned Megaship) stayed in our home system for a lot longer than it was supposed to, and didnt move until they had applied the Neutered faction.
Bang goes my plan to get our Group a Megaship and plant it close enough to some strategic systems, get the 100%, expand into a nearby valuable system, then move again, rinse and repeat.
Yes that would be fun but would cause absolute havoc in the BGS. 50/50 that FD make a boo boo and something like that can be done.
As dom mentioned above we tested it with our first jump, unfortunatly looks like the mega ship factions were locked like engineer factions
Shame we could have had some salty fun with it![]()
