ENOUGH!

Skimmers missions bugged (you are asked to kill skimmers in a base that doesn't have skimmers), assassination missions bugged (target not present in the timeframe and place where it should have been, so you waste time running around, jumping in and out the instance, system, whatever... nothing changes!).

Why should I lose time trying to increase my reputation with a faction, if I follow missions doomed to be failed, which will decrease my reputation with those factions?

If you look for those bugs, you find posts of 2016! Seriously, why all this? Frontier, it's time you sell the game and change your job. Shame on you ALL.

Dude, give FD a chance, beyond is coming and improvements have been promised across the board. Let's all wait and see.

Lots of bugged mission types out there since the last update. The Planetary Scan missions are horribly unplayable right now also.

I miss doing those, but there is no point when they refuse to complete after all objectives have been accomplished.

But I have to disagree about Assassination Missions. I do several dozen of those a day, and I have not had any issues with them. (One of the few without issues since 2.4.09)

My only suggestion is to file a bug report to add to the mountain of others. We will know if Frontier has bothered to fix these on Thursday.

If memory serves me, don't any skimmers count to mission total? I don't do these missions but I do remember reading that you can kill any skimmers on the target planet to get the mission total requirement. And if you are just trying to improve rep, then I suggest data deliveries, works fine for me.

My only issue is the rate of Follow-on mission triggers.....which dropped substantially for me when 2.4 dropped...& sometimes mission difficulty issues (ranks not matching up to mission difficulty). Other than that, missions are running smoother than I've seen since launch!

Not every skimmer on the planet, but every skimmer that belongs to the target faction, yes.

I have a wild shot theory about follow on missions - they got triggered if you have very high rep with faction. Almost it's like "ohhh right it is you, we have another task for ya". Might be observational bias, obviously.

I really admire the optimism

FD has been "fixing" mission bugs since Alpha

Each "fix" only changes which bugs are active at any given time

Some of which seem to just never completely die, they just show up in some releases and don't in others

It's pretty amusing

"Oh yeah, none of those are showing up in mission rewards again? I'll have the team look into it."

Probably on a macro key by now

Both mission types work fine.

Skimmers can be found at Points of Interest within 100km of the target settlement, the mission text could admittedly explain this better.

Assassination targets are immediately available when the mission is accepted even before the time window. They will be found in USS around celestial bodies in the target system. During the time window, you can find them in supercruise.

In both cases, a trip to the nav beacon always provides the location info, alternatively you can use an advanced discovery scanner.

Failure of Planetary Scan Missions is relatively rare, and I've done a lot of these recently to rank up to Duke. Probably too rare to be trapped easily by FDevs.

Missing skimmers has been around a long time, but the workaround has too, which is to find the skimmers at POIs in the vicinity.

Partly ninja'd by Vindelanos. I too have found assassination targets immediately, and assumed that was a Bug ! lol

Not sure about the Skimmers since I have read plenty of similar complaints about those. I stopped doing them a long time ago. (Too tedious for my blood)

But I agree about the Assassination Missions working fine. The OP is shooting himself in the foot by doing all the log outs and refreshes as well. That just resets everything and adds more time to getting to the USS.

Also... The Mission Objectives USS at the designated planet tend to show up around the 20-23m distance from the target body. (Harder to determine on Stars and Gas Giants), but that technique always works for me in getting the Mission Objective USS to pop up quickly when I get there and just orbit the planet at that distance.

I still think those should just be visible immediately though. Why over complicate things?

Then there would be no games at all. There are very few games that don't have day 1 patches and I mean look at any Ubisoft, Activision or EA game or Bethesda game or literally any...

Still waiting for an example of a "perfect" game since people want to bash this one constantly with insinuations of "bad design" and all that. Better yet, would love to see examples of their own work in comparison.

Nice insults too

Gotta love those. Rather alike "Your mom!", and "I know you are but what am I?" responses. ;)
