I'm excited for the new c+p changes! Here's why!

Out of curiosity, what is your cmdr name? For such a scary and renowed PvP player, there is a surprising lack of videos or reports about a cmdr fudepoof. So what is your name, scary cmdr? Would love to see if I have stumbled into you. :)

Nope. "I am being a cornhole to people to draw attention to how annoying cornholes are!" is not fooling anyone.
You're looking at my CMDR name, bub.
I assume you're asking because you want proof or want to gank me (lol). I made a PC CMDR a week ago, thankfully before the passenger nerf went through. II'll be pvp ready in a few weeks on PC. I'll probably get mopped up by the g1mat exploiters and grandfathered secondary godrolls.

I'm just paying the game the way frontier wants me to.If Carebears and frontier want to try to disrupt pvp without any solutions to combat logging, then I'm going to use the sandbox to it's fullest. If that's not what they wanted, they should've thought before giving me an incentive to nuke sideys through their poorly constructed C+P system

hmm ... aren't we all?

those who aren'th clowns and arth of big consequence, do step forward!!
(so we all can have some more big laugh!)
Will the real clown of big consequence please stand up

Well then, soon I guess we'll get to see if that fabled "git gud" applies to newbie killers once ATR is in play. Personally, I'm long on salt futures.

Nope, not interesting in 'ganking' anyone. Just wondering, because on PC people of any notoriety show up on youtube quite quickly. You didnt, so I was curious. Anyway, I guess being XB1 explains it, although I'd assume you'd have some vids of you taking on those cutters. Anyway, will be interesting to see how things work out on PC. Competition is a bit... stronger when it comes to notoriety I fear. ;) Its a bit weak to already start pre-emptively hiding behind 'they cheated!' though. Tip: some of those guys here can consistenly rail people from 3km without ever turning FA on. The skill level of some of the big boys here is pretty high, so I'd focus on that first.

I hang around CGs in Open all the time, typically in small ships with mediocre mods. Will shoot you a message if I see you.

Maybe now that there will be a host of magically invincible security ships insta transporting to the scene of a crime all the poor, downtrodden PG players will come back into Open.

Pirates have no game without victims. So getting people to play in open is in their interests anyway.

From what I hear about the uber sec ships there won't be any point to trying pirating anyhow, so that idea is DOA.

Nah! The ATF don't show up unless you're murdering.

I'll prate the out of some motherers without murdering them.

It will also make anarchy systems actually have meaning, other than just being interdicted by NPC's more often.

It worked in Eve. Carebears could stay in highsec indefinitely if they wanted to, but the best stuff was in lowsec or nullsec, which carried much higher risk because that is where Player Pirates roamed free. I'd love to see something similar finally happen here.

It made the game more interesting than it would have been had it been ALL highsec or ALL nullsec.

Yanno, I don't mind a bit of PvP now and again but for me it's in a CZ, attacking a wanted ship or prearranged where both of us have report crimes turned off.. In other words "legal" so C&P changes are going to make zero difference to how I play. All this salt from the murderhobos does make me wonder if they actually are a bit worried by it. As for all the folks going "I'm gonna nuke noobs because of this", well, they might wish to reconsider. As a practical matter, since before release we've seen FD trying harder and harder to curb murderhoboing without completely destroying the "meaningful" PvP they explicitly designed into the game. The latest C&P changes are just the newest iteration of this effort. Everuy previous iteration has also been greeted with loud protestations of "you can't stop me and I'm going to prove it" or some variation thereof. Personally I find myself wondering when FD will run out of patience trying to achieve their apparent goal through game mechanics and just say "You know what? We're done trying it the nice way. Banhammer."

*thinks back of Lugh...* :)

Anyway, they repeatedly said 'griefcondas killing noobwinders' is something they dont want to remove or block or ban. You may disagree, but its a fact. It is not that they are unable to do so, they dont want to do so. C&P isnt a failed attempt at it, it doesnt TRY to prevent it. It adds consequences.

In the end, each of us is responsible for our ship.

Frankly, I consider the caliber of player opposing these changes a strong indicator that FDev are on the correct path.

lol, you need frontier's super cops to kill griefers, that's rich.
DOES BABY NEED FRONTIER TO HOLD YOUR HAND IN OPEN?!

Oh, gosh - you know how to use caps-lock?!? Well, gee wiz, you must be right then.

Just you wait. Someone actually so naive, that they think grifers will no more? Oh, you just don't know yet..
Folks are still going to get ganked. The imminent C&P additions won't change that.

I'm beginning to think the grifers don't understand the point here. The new system isn't trying to stop griefers... it will however lessen their impact on other commanders and stop them from suicidwinding their way out of trouble.

I've played eve.
You don't pay for the other guys ship when you blow it up either.

Who cares how much your victim pays? How does this impact you?
If what "PvP'ers" really want is pew-pew, this change shouldn't worry them one bit. If what they really want is to annoy other players, then - yes... this will 'impact' you.

My understanding was that they were going to essentially function just like normal security forces; show up in force the second you do anything to earn a wanted status, such as shoot at another CMDR. You're saying you have to murder a player before they respond?

I'm sensing a lot of bravado in this thread. Thing is open already IS hostile to noobz, and anyone else who doesn't want to PvP is either in mobius/solo or has already left the game. So either it's going to work and make open a better place, or noobs and traders will stay where they are now and everyone else will have an easier time vs griefers and frontier will try even harder to make a difference next time round. Remember they've already said this is a beginning rather than an end of the c&p process so showing up it's weaknesses now will just make sure they're more effectivley filled on the next pass.

Seems like a reasonable outcome either way

It's not enough on it's own to bring me back to the game... I want a whole lot more game in my game before I break out the joystick again, but if I that happened it'd make more more likely to come back to open i stead of mobius. I'm watching with hope.

Yeah, in the C&P livestream, ED has to kill a bunch of cops before they show up, and if I recall Sandro specifically states that they aren't there to one-shot the bad guys, but to act as an increasingly deadly deterrent to committing more crimes.

Whether or not your notoriety factors into their arrival, I don't know, but they aren't supposed to pop in immediately and kill you like some spiteful deus ex machina.

Was he wanted before he shot at the cops? I thought not, which meant he had to get a warrant AND raise his level to the point where they'd send the uber-cops after him for the demo.

No, I think they cleared it first. I'll have to watch again.
