How can I play the beta from the Oculus store?

It seems like the Oculus launcher opens the Frontier launcher but automatically selects everything from there. Has anybody managed to play the beta from the Oculus version?

Bumping as I'd like to know this too please. Currently downloading a separate client through Steam.

And a "me too" from me? ......
Later ....
Now I know!

1) Launch Oculus client.
2) From desktop, find the game in your Oculus library
3) Click the 3 'dots' to the right of the ED title name
4) Choose the option "Start in desktop mode"
5) Find the Horizon beta option in the ED Client launch list

This sounds reasonable, I'll test it later. Thanks!

Yeah, but what if you want to play the beta in VR?

This would launch in 2d for me but if you launch from within the game folder itself (skip the warning message) it works. Also, if the client doesn't seem to want to download the beta you can download it through steam and copy it over.

I don't have the Oculus version of Elite so this suggestion may not work...

Go to the options page, then graphics. Select 3D, and choose HMD, headphones or not depending on your preference.

That option isn't there.

But GFunk's method works: launch the frontier launcher from the game folder (in the oculus folder), then select beta and launch.

I also saw this advice elsewhere (paraphrasing):

1. open Elite as normal from Oculus library.
2. while Elite is open go back to desktop and log out of the launcher
3. close Elite
4. open Elite again and this time it'll prompt you for your log-in. Don't save your password.

This way it'll ask you for your password every time and you can select which version of Elite to run from the launcher.

Open this Drawer: frontier-developments-plc-elite-dangerous
you can find it here: c: under programs ..\Oculus Apps\Software\frontier-developments-plc-elite-dangerous\
in this drawer, you will see a programm called ORID.exe

open Orid.exe with paramter "ed" , also Orid.exe ed
It opens the Launcher an you can switch to the beta, after you press play you can playing in VR.

the easier way is:
Open the Notepad.
Write follow:
Orid ED

Save the file as: "elite_beta.cmd" (with the " ")
Save the file here: \frontier-developments-plc-elite-dangerous\

after you double klick the file you can now play.

Its very simple.

I am a German People and my englisch is not the best.

Here is my german Text:
in diesen Ordner gehen: frontier-developments-plc-elite-dangerous

): "elite_beta.cmd"
in diesen Ordner speichern: \frontier-developments-plc-elite-dangerous\

Das file per doppelklick starten und es öffnet sich der launcher, ist simpel...
verküpfung auf dem desktop nicht vergessen...
