In this case it's from a very long time ago. I spawned in my asp with thargoids probes and sensors in the hold. I haven't touched that sort of stuff in about a month

In my case it's a bit odd...my cash is from about a week ago, my Combat Ranking is from about 2 weeks ago, and I'm flying a ship I'd swear I've not been in for a month.
I think the CMDR snapshot is from about 2-3 weeks ago, so if OP didn't have a Clipper 2-3 weeks ago, then this is why.
And there I was thinking Beta had finally introduced some gameplay to make criminality worthwhile to balance the C&P. Oh well, back to my lawful endeavours
I had only my Python (Bought 1 year ago) in the beta, although in the live version I also have an Anaconda (bought 2 years ago), FGS (bought 3 months ago) and an Imp Courier (bought 1 year ago).
Had to sell my Python to buy and kit out the Chieftain. Due I didn't had the money, because my credit balance was from few months ago.
So don't know if the Beta profile had accidentally deleted some of my ships. But I don't mind if this is only in the Beta, it's for testing anyway.
Just hope that during the update I wont loose all my ships.

I think mine is even weirder - I am in my Cutter, but I am in Wyrd system, which (AFAIK) my main CMDR has never been to. However, my alt (CMDR Cynical Squirrel) has been there in the last couple of days, but he is still in a sidewinder...
need to check where CS is - maybe he is 50KLy away in a sidewinder, in which case he will be very unhappy!

I may be wrong, but I think we all start in Wyrd in the beta.
That would explain it then - was hoping to check some interesting planets out on the rim, but can't be bothered
