Any chance of any perks for pre-orderers?

While I used to play all sorts of computer games, I've not been really into it in years. Elite however (and frontier), I have very fond memories of on my amiga and I'd love to get back into gaming just to play this.

As I'm not into gaming much these days, the original kickstarter completely passed me by which is a shame as I would have backed it. I have now however pre-ordered the game and the lifetime expansion pass in readiness. This adds up to £70 which had I spent it during the KS, then I would have some perks ready when the game comes out, such as having several start options.

I've still contributed to the development of the game a significant amount of time before the game's release, so any chance that us late-comers might get some advantage too? I know it's a long-shot but hey, you've gotta ask eh?

Lifetime expansion pass is a pretty sizable perk. Latecomers will have to buy each one seperate.

plus all the practice you'll get in gamma before the game goes retail

you never know, you may also get the combat build a couple of weeks before gamma starts, FD have given it to every other tier so i dont see why they wouldn't continue that.

FD did give some additional perks after kickstarter to alpha backers probably to encourage the uptake of that.

So it could happen for Beta...

I would not bet on it though, but this is a reasonable thread I think to put the request forward.

true, in the KS the lifetime expansion was at £80 which I would have paid at the time. even when looking at the £35 cost of the base game, that would still garner me some perks

I don't know if I'd get access to the gamma would I? I thought that was for KS backers? would be happy to get some early access though.

Yes, everybody who buys the game before release goes in at gamma level.

Or even some similar but alternate options. even a badge would be nice

But the reason for those perks is not just the money, but also the timing. They're here for people who chose to trust Frontier when that was needed the most and when there was no actual game at all.
It's not like "pledging" much later when the product is already pretty solid.

As a standard beta guy (I wouldn't even say backer in this case), I'm fine with what I have, that is nothing but access to the standard beta.
