You Are Going To Need A Materials Collection Ship.

Why do you need everything at once? Just put the modules you need at the moment, and sell them (for the buying price after all) afterwards. Most materials don't need a wake scanner, for example. And hangar and limpet controller could be swapped as needed (I'm fine without the latter).

Don't even need to sell the modules. Storage is a thing.

Because, you're going to buy them back again, and again, and again...

Always used a DBE fer this...does everything I need it to do and does so efficiently...and its cheap to replace when things go south ^

So are they doing this going from 3 back to one. that would set things back in my opinion does anyone know for sure??

Just finished engineering a type 7 for this exact purpose. Reading the notes from some guys in beta, I saw that material drops have gone from three per pickup to one. Figured the writing was on the wall. On the plus side, I'll finally have a reason to take the ship out of dock every now and again.

Right now, I throw them away again, and again, and again...

Deliberately grinding mats is a waste of time and effort (IMHO).
They come easily enough just from playing and with the mats trader I don't even need to farm high wakes any more for DWEs, so I have even less need for a dedicated ship than I did before.

I've long since had one.
It's an Asp Scout.

Collectors, check.
Wake-scanner, check.
SRV, check.

Use for Asp Scout, check.

Been flying this around since 2.2, it's a beautiful thing.

I like to use my Viper 4 because of the accel/decel rate... makes it easy to scoop things.

Another excellent way to collect manufactured and raw mats is RES mining. My turrets kill stuff, my mining lasers break rocks, and my collectors just pick up the whole damn show. With RES mining and the traders, it should be pretty easy to fill up most of my storage in no time.

Come to think of it... that will be tonight's test! :D

Also, in case anyone hasn't considered it - when fighting in conflizt zones you will often come out with tons of abberant shield pattern analysis (like it usually maxes out your data). Anyone should be able to just pop into a CZ and scan the crap out of everything for some easy G4 data to trade.

P.S. The rest of you guys don't already have a mat collector ship? Y'all are a bunch of casuals, yo.

I'll use whatever I happen to be flying at the time (with the possible exception of the T7).
I never had a problem collecting mats just by playing the game before, so nothing much is going to change for me.

^^^ This.

Though I must admit I've already been fitting a wake scanner on most of my ships so the trip out of mass lock won't be wasted time, most of my ships carry an SRV because they're so much fun to fly, and my Python carries a collection limpet controller for salvage missions. :)

I'd go down to 4A thrusters, the Dolphin is fine with them and you'll gain some jump range and power budget, and maybe consider hanging a couple of small mining lasers from the hardpoints (for mineral mat collecting).

So why do I need limpets and a controller for said?

You may not, but some people (me included, occasionally) are too lazy to scoop themselves.
