HOTAS SQUEAK and sticky request

Hi - first off, mods please. A sticky thread for HOTAS issues would be nice? I tried to find the original but the forum search engine baffles me.

Anyways - I finally solved the squeaking issue - Herschells Silicone paste apply through the orifice not he top of the stick unit. The main handle unit is easy to take apart and slide off over the retaining clip. I used a cocktail stick to get the grease into the ball section and let time, gravity and heat take effect. The squeak was gone after 30 minutes gameplay. Ohh I can tell you I am happy no more squeaking.

Nice tip! However, can I just check with you before I start taking my HOTAS apart: which part of the HOTAS did you unscrew - the base of the upper part of the unit or the joystick shaft itself? Sorry if this is an obvious question, I just don’t want to ruin my Thrustmaster! ;)

Thank you for the tip! Squeaking has made me mad! Funny thing that the older version for PS3/PC (Thrustmaster T Flight Hotas X) which i still have, have no problems like this at all. It has better quality over all. Example sticks circle shape base with screws is metal in the older version. Same price, better quality. Such a bull imho!

Yeah! My thoughts exactly! Pictures about this operation would be nice too, to be extra cautious :D

Don't go in through the bottom of the unit, the ball housing is sealed at the bottom. Take the joystick handle apart and remove the blue securing ring and rubber cover and go in through the top - access is limited.

Gives a nice visual guide to disassembly; also makes at least one vital point about reassembly!

Top find!
