Suggestion for Augmentation/Replacement/Whatever of CQC

The Why

CQC was an awesome idea. However, it apparently lacked whatever "oomph" any awesome idea requires to become an awesome thing. One thing I feel like it lacks is any meaningful connection to the "main" game, itself. I hear all the time about the insane wait times, the inability to ever get a match, people disconnecting when a match is finally found, etc. Aside from all these issues, why waste time doing CQC when it benefits your CMDR in no respectable way? If I'm going to be playing video games, and not farming for engineers, grinding for rebuys, or practicing with my PvP ship then I'm not going to be playing Elite: Dangerous, and that's that (for me).

Imagine if CQC could be integrated into the full game in a way that meant something for the people participating in it (other than an arbitrary 4th rank). Imagine if you could use your ship?! Imagine making millions of credits for winning a fight?! Imagine paint jobs and decals for CMDRs that dominate the installations, so that others can recognize a PvP warrior without instantly assuming they're a griefer (or them being a known griefer being the reason they were recognized at all)?! These are the kinds of things I suggest.

The What

A place like I've suggested already exists, in fact, in an infantile state. The PvP Hub at San Tu is, quite possibly, the best thing to happen to PvP in Elite: Dangerous since the New Caribbean. I suggest that this hub system be integrated into the game. The Discord bot for the PvP Hub has a matchmaking system built into it, and that is how hub matches are formed. One huge PvPer gripe (in my opinion) is how we can't make any credits doing what we love to do. Imagine if, lore-wise, an entertainment company paid CMDRs (and covered their rebuys) to participate in these matches? Imagine how much fun it would be to get to use your ships that you spend so much time engineering without fear of paying the rebuy, and to potentially come out of the fight richer! CMDRs should be able to queue for PvP matches from any station with Starport Services (to facilitate ease of matchmaking).

This is already something that there is a massive amount of interest in the community for, as is evidenced by the creation of San Tu, but there are still people who are put off by having the possibility of rebuy, or the reputation of the PvP community, or what have you. If this were a legitimate, in game mechanic, I think it would be great for the game.

I agree.. I think it would also lend a hand for better pvp battles and a fun learning tool..

I agree!

It could also have two in-game queues, one with your current pvp able ship, another just like cqc is now, with fighters and stock small ships, but instead it would be queues inside the game and as part of a current Civil War or War event...imagine two capital Ships, Empire vs Federation scenario, and you join that fight in a fighter to capture a power core that will disable or cripple the other side capital ship and this favoring your side of the war...this scenario could include a background fight but you are placed into a smaller location, inaccessible to bigger ships and so you need to use fighters!!

The reward could be reputation, credits and exclusive engineer materials...
